Is this safe for fine hair Caucasian? Does it have lye?
Asked by: JessaBunny
No. I do not believe this product would be safe for Caucasian hair. I am African American and it was not safe for my hair because the product took plugs of hair from the crown of my head.

Does this product contain lye?
Asked by: Ms Anneg
Yes it does. You must use neutralizing shampoo after relaxing, but there's no mixing required. You can use as little or as much as you want, and save the rest for next time or touch ups.

It really depends how curly your hair is.. If it’s kinky curly then you might want to get the super versus the regular..

I’m so sorry to hear about your experience with Motions. I’m not a professional hair stylist but I’ve been doing my own for a while. I’ve been using Motions since I was 18 and I’m. 44. I use to get my hair professional done every two weeks but I started to do it myself. There are a couple of things to know about the product. The original product by Unilever Had lye in it and I love it. In 2015 Motions hair was sold Strength of Nature and the formula was changed . So there are two different formulas available for purchase you need to see who was the manufacturer to know.
Motions hair have 3 types of relaxers. Mild, regular, and super. Which did you use? I have very course hair and use to use the super but now since Stregth of Nature bought it I use regular. Before I use the relaxer I will still mix the premix relaxer. I always pre grease my scalp to protect your scalp from burning and irritation. Motions Strength of nature now make a classsic pre-chemical scalp protector to apply before perming your
Anytime you feel it burning you should immediately rinse it. After you rinse the relaxer you should use Motions after shampoo moisture plus Conditioner. It changes your PH balance of your hair and make it softer. I tried to use the neutralizer shampoo once after a relaxer and it was a disaster. I normally Will leave the conditioner on for a few minutes then rinse. Then I’ll use the neutralizer shampoo.
Since the neutralizer has a high Ph balance to remove the relaxer Your hair can became very dry. I started to use Ogx thick and full biotin & collagen shampoo and conditioner in the purple bottle after using the neutralizer shampoo. If you every use Motions again try that and Mild relaxer.
To repair the damage I would try Aphogee. When I tried other products and they did damage I used this. Their two step protein and treatment and balance moisturizer. Please note: It WILL stink. This product will make your hair HARD and DO NOT COMB but the balance moisturizer will soften your hair. I would start doing protective hair styles. Braiding your hair naturally no weaves, no gel, no brushes, and don’t Braid to tight. You don’t want to pull so much on your damage hair. I would wash and lightly trim your hair every 2 weeks.

Can I use a roller(s) after I used this product? I want my hair to be curly when I go to the office. But my hair is porous, so I am currently trying to make my hair back to health by using relaxer products and keratine oil. Thank you - Loida
Asked by: LOIDA820
I use foam rollers all the time in my relaxed hair. I also use a generous amount of Motions weightless daily oil moisurizer before drying and flatironing. It seems like lot of heat, but if you get a good trim after each relaxer, your hair should get healthier.
