Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stripped my hair This shampoo left my hair very dry. After one wash, I felt the difference. This product is not for me. However I absolutely love the other products from Texture ID.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very drying I know this is named as a clarifying shampoo but it dried my hair out really bad. It made my hair feel like wire to the touch. It over stripped my hair and I had to handle my hair like it was thin porcelain about to break until I could get conditioner in it. I've tried all but the Texture ID styling foam and I always find products better than what this line carries. I have low porosity hair and I hear a lot about how we need to clarify our hair but not every clarifier is compatible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It’s bad This product dried out my hair completely, it was so dry and brittle, even with the styling cream. From the same brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice product It kind of stripped my hair like very, very little but still noticeable. Other than that I really like it. It lathers up very well, you only need a little and it has a nice smell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'd DEFINITELY repurchase this! I want to start by saying I was not paid in any way to review this product. I genuinely love writing/reading reviews, because I know if well written ,they can really help a sista out. Shampoo I used the curl cleanser to wash out a week old silk press. #1 the product smells really good. Perfumey. I’m a sucker for a smell good hair product. #2 the cleanser was gentle on the hair. My hair never felt stripped as I used the cleanser. It cleaned my scalp really well. I’ll definitely repurchase this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shampoo for Curly Girl Method! I bought this shampoo because I follow the Curly Girl method (modified - I need to shampoo around once a month to 2x a month) and was having trouble finding a shampoo that contained the proper type of surfactants. This one is great! It removes build up without leaving your hair feeling completely depleted of moisture. The scent is very nice and not at all over powering. I used this, followed by Texture ID's deep conditioning masque and my waves and curls sprang back to life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does Clarify the scalp I used this today to clarify my scalp without stripping moisture and I thought it worked well for that purpose. Smells wonderful, and will continue to use. I normally use shea moisture line on my hair(African Fig one). Like any product used over time, buildup can occur so I thought this shampoo fulfilled its purpose which is to clarify scalp without stripping hair. Thank Texture ID!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome 4 My Curls I bought this shampoo and loved it. I use it weekly and I can tell my hair becoming healthier and more moisturized with each use. Background my hair is 4a/3c and low porosity. I need to clarify weekly and I cowash midweek because I get buildup easily. This does it without stripping my hair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smells like perfume not moisturizing at all I cannot stand this product. It does nothing for my type 4, low porosity hair. It's perfume smell was way more overwhelming than the other products in the line. I suggest just using the conditioner as a cowash although I don't know if it's cleansing engouh

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a huge fan I love the line but I’m not a huge fan of their shampoo. It made my hair squeaky clean but it made it dry and rough but luckily I had the deep treatment mask that helped make my hair soft again in seconds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OMG...THANK GOD FOR TEXT ID!! First of all...I went into Sally because I needed a conditioner AND I had a coupon. So, it's the first thing I saw when walking through the door AND I got the cutest free tote to go with it. AAAANDD the entire line smells AMAZING...almost like a creme brulee. Not only is it a good price, and its amazing scent, but it works. Above all else, it works. It doesn't leave a sticky or heavy residue feel to your hair and I've had the worst time finding a product or line that works for my hair's every need. I have a mixture between thick and no real curl pattern and this line has helped my hair be healthy, thoroughly moisturized, and met every expectation I'd desired. It is absolutely amazing and if I could write a personal letter to the people of this company I would. I've been natural for 12 year, locs for 10 and natural for 2, so no one has any idea what this product means to me. Thank you thank you thank you!

Is this safe for daily use?

Asked by: manmapes
I would say yes but on the other hand nobody needs to wash their hair more than 2x a week unless you have really thin/oily hair.

What is the purpose of this shampoo? Is it for permed hair to help retain the curl without frizz?

Asked by: Dianeshw
This is a shampoo used for clarifying the scalp and hair of product build up. If you use lots of products like oils, butters, oils, styling creams, foams etc. then you will eventually have a build up. This causes the hair to be weighed down, difficult to hold a style and possibly, a unhealthy scalp. Most people need to clarify weekly or monthly. It’s an individual preference. I hope this helps.

How many times in a month you can use a clarifying shampoo?

Asked by: lizapr76
That’s gonna be based off each individuals product usage and buildup. You clarify as necessary. So if you’re someone who uses a lot of oils, butters, and creams in your hair regularly, you will be clarifying way more often than someone who does not use those types of products regularly.

This says it’s sulfate free but the ingredients have “SODIUM C14-16 OLEFIN SULFONATE” in it, which is a sulfate... so, is the description wrong or the ingredients wrong?

Asked by: Mandyleigh07
Actually I found a few of these ingredients to actually be types of sulfates. Check out beecurly and you'll see the list.
