Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product is not good I tried this product twice and both times stopped after my first nail. It was awful the brush was broken when I bought it and the colors turned out nothing as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dip kit This kit works well. Brush off excess powder before next layer. This will help keep the brush clean. Work quickly after applying step 2. I found using a clear gel top coat worked better than using step 2 for a top coat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this and was SO hopeful, BUT... I bought this several months ago. I’ve tried it countless of times and it has never worked out right for me. I’ve watched the videos and I’ve followed the instructions. It always comes out chunky or uneven. AND starts to peel within a week. I don’t recommend for the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed Was also super excited to get this home and try, especially since the lady working there hyped it up so much. Well, definitely hyped it up way to much. The idea of just painting and dipping for a nice manicure sounded so nice, but that is not what you will get. This takes SOOO much practice to make it look good. You will need several files, and honestly, your own brush to smooth and shape the gel. Furthermore, I could deal with that, i could, BUT my first nail popped off, yes, just popped off in its entirety, the very next morning, then all were off the night of the very next day. I spent at least an hour plus doing these nails.. they didn't look good, did not deliver what I was expecting, or what i was told for that matter, and all were gone the NEXT day. I will try again, but this is surely not something a beginner would want to invest in. If I had kept the packaging, it would certainly be going back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Uneven application and really chunky. I bought this today, when I asked the lady working the register if this kit was popular and if they had heard good things about it, she said yes! I was super excited try this product, since I don’t have time to go to the salon anymore. Once I got home I started watching videos on YouTube and everyone kept complaining how you need an e-file, or some sort of grit to go around the edges. All the videos also said that they usually don’t last longer than a week because they start to lift. After watching YouTube videos I figured I’d still give this kit a try, my left hand came out decent but I did notice that on some parts of my nails it would get chunky but no big deal I filed them. Once I started working on my right hand I began to notice that the powder was getting way too chunky/bulky, almost like it wasn’t even connected to layer underneath. I filed them down but they still didn’t look as nice as the other hand, I used 3 coats of the powder because of how chunky and uneven the application was but next I will try to only do 2 coats of powder hopefully that makes a difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, looks great! I used a much more expensive powder dip brand previously and was not happy with the way the bottles lasted. After 5 or so uses, the liquids did not look good and were thick and gummy. I tried this and wow! Great product for a reasonable cost!! I had to put tips on because my nails are very short and still came out fantastic!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hard to Use, Requires Tools I went back and forth between this and a gel kit for over a week before purchase. And I really wanted this to be awesome. I purchased mostly to keep my manicures lasting longer. It would a good bit of practice to get this down and as other reviews have said, almost require an electric nail file to look polished. Once applied, mine started coming loose at the cutical and could easily be popped off. I literally removed all of them that way each time. I believe this is because without a professional filer to grind where the polish meets the cutical, it’s hard to get that area smooth-thus leaving it bulky and easy to pop off. Using a gel light is probably a better option because as long as you can apply simple polish, you should be able to apply the gel. This requires a lot more skill. However, Sally Beauty was amazing with the return-you can’t beat free shipping and free returns if you don’t like something. I won’t hesitant to buy from here again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and so very pretty This stuff is absolutely amazing. Moving to the countryside of Colorado, after living in NH and being close enough to salons there, going to a salon is just not feasible here. This product is easy to use and the colors make it so you don’t even have to use polish, it’s that pretty.

Does anyone have trouble with the color being translusent when it's not supposed to be? Also, my gel coat brush seemed to harden almost immediately and I need a new one. Where did I go wrong?

Asked by: thomp957
you may not be keeping your nail in the powder long enough. let it sit for a few seconds. also let it dry a few seconds before applying the second coat. slow and careful are keys to this. as for the brush. keep it wiped cleaned before putting it back into the gel. also at end of service, I trade out the cleaner brush for the one I was using, so it gets a good soak. and I start next service with a clean brush.

Every time I use this dip, my nails completely lift and pop off. Any ideas why this happens? Also, do u wait to put the activator on after the base dries? Do u put another coat of the base after the activator?

Asked by: Jennbenn
Wash your hands then wipe your nailplates with either acetone or alcohol. If that doesn't help, pick up some dehydrator and nail primer.

How do you prevent your nails from getting gummy? Mine turned out really uneven and gummy looking and I'm not sure what I did wrong.

Asked by: Malia111
You may have used the nail base and top gel as finisher instead of the gel activator as your last step.

You need to use a top coat after the last application of activator.

I have a bottle of "resin activator" with a spray top from a different brand. Will this work with this product? The clerk at Sally's sold me the individual pieces, not the kit bc I have my own powder. She said she never uses activator & I don't need it.

Asked by: Amygrace
you would have to use some kind of activator otherwise the base coat won't cure. Try the spray activator if you already have it and see if it dries. If it does, please post an update as I'm curious about that myself! I have whole bottle of spray activator from Sally's :)
