Rated 4 out of 5 by from VERY good file if used correctly! tl;wr-- fantastic, smooth filing if you use barrel sander and LIGHT/MED PRESSURE for gel/polygel. heavy handedness will make the chuck skip. i recently got a home polygel dualform kit online, but since i'm a noob, the underside was not nearly as pretty as the plastic-formed tops. i decided to look at sallys, knowing that efiles can get pricey for the nicer/pro quality ones, but i've also used really cheap efiles in the past that barely did anything at all. the reviews for this one (the cheapest i could find on the website) all were polar opposites--either people loved it and praised it, or they hated it and said it broke almost immediately. but i went ahead and took my chances, deciding i was going to do some experimentation with the bits that came in the kit. since the 80/100 grit hand file i got with the polygel worked well with minimal pressure, i knew the small sanding barrels that came with the efile would take a lot off, so i started with the smoother cone bits. they were fantastic at buffing the natural nail/cuticles, but barely did anything to the gel, so i went back to the barrels. as with the hand file, they worked like a dream, and even a little faster since the rpm on this is actually quite fast for being battery operated. i obviously don't know other people's stories, but i suspect the bad reviews were from people pushing too hard with the efile. when i put too much pressure on mine, the chuck would skip, but adjusting to light pressure and letting the bit do the work fixed it immediately (and is how you should file anyway, except in the cases of the button getting stuck, that's a factory defect and should be exchanged). if you're a beginner or a hobbyist, i definitely recommend this file. packs a punch for the cost, and the barrels can be bought in bulk when they wear out; the diamond/foam tips likely won't wear out very fast at all if you take good care of your cuticles~

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken within a week of buying this I bought this in hopes of learning to do my own nails. I used it once and while attempting to use it a second time, the button pushed all the way into the machine, and it is not fixable. I have reached out to Supernail with no response but I will continue to do so. $30 is too much money for nothing!! I wish I had checked the reviews first or that the cashier would have recommended a better tool! Keep your receipt!! Also, I used rechargeable batteries and the last one became stuck inside the compartment. Just buy a professional quality drill for about $30 more.

I'm trying to shape my little brother's big toenail so it will be flat. This nail grew up back after he lost it and it's growing back upwards in the middle of this big toe. If this is not the right tool, what do you recommend?

Asked by: Nail Shaping Help
Sorry, but I can’t answer that question. Try consulting a doctor or a professional mani/pedi person.

I bought this and extra attachments later but they do not fit it’s like I need an attachment to let me use the extra bits?  In the package everything is attached to one of those white plastic pieces that fit right into the unit.

Asked by: Cusimommy
It sounds like you bought the bits for a better quality drill. Look on the website for the brand of drill you have and see if they sell that style bit, if not, I'd invest in a better drill (you'd be better off anyway). Good luck!

How do you take off the drill bit??? I can't even take off the head to use the other bits that comes in the kid

Asked by: Jackiezs
I just grab it with my thumb and pointer finger and pull the bit out.  Sometimes I do have to use a little force to pull it out, but I've never had a problem.  I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
