Rated 1 out of 5 by from Clear acrylic nail powder So I ordered this powder and they didn’t send it with my order. I ordered it to fill my nails but somehow I only received one of my three items. I’ll never order from Sally’s again, secondly I wasn’t contacted in reference to only receiving only one item.

Is this fda approved? IS it safe to use?

Asked by: Fefemo2006
I don't believe there is an FDA approved acrylic powder but there is an ingredient the FDA recommends to avoid: methyl methacrylate monomer. This does NOT contain that.

I've purchased this powder and it always lifts way too easy... what liquid are you guys using that youre not getting any lift???

Asked by: supermom12
I have learn that if the nails are a bit more oily then normal a good idea just as extra measure is to use a antibacterial cleansing spray bore applying the dehydrate(apply the dehydrate twice on the nail) and the primer as usual, this can help to clear out the oil on your nails and help with the next steps. I have a friend who always complains about regular nail polish not lasting as long as they should on her nails and I tried the above steps on her nails... two weeks later the regular nail polish was still on her nails and she could see the growth of her natural nails. Problem solved =)

I don't understand how this acrylic works?

Asked by: Beverlyb02
Acrylic comes in two forms... the traditional is the "wet acrylic" where monomer is use to build the nail while using a nail form on the natural nail. Now days we can use "powder acrylic" its the dry way to use acrylic where the dipping system us used. Bottom line it's all the same only in different ways to use it. You see some people don't like the smell or are allergic to the monomer liquid that us used when building acrylic nails on natural nails, so the power acrylic is a way to offer the clients a way of having acrylic nails. If don't know how it all works I suggest to watch some YouTube videos where you can learn how to use wet or dry acrylic. I hope my explanation was helpful and good luck to you (remember to have fun while learning all there is in the beautiful world of nails.)

I bought the clear color and really hate it. I don't use tips, I apply it over my natural nails. I would like a more opaque white, but wonder if the white shade is a stark, bright white. Anybody know?

Asked by: Mommacat
It is so white you need shades! Very stark. I hope this helps!

Is this a product that is recommended if doing a pink and white fade?

Asked by: Lenaaaa12
the dehydrator? Yes. And make sure to scratch the nail with your file, and push back your cuticle. That will make it lift also. If your low on cash some people use 70%alcohol. Don't touch the nail after dehydration, and priming. I do my nails and just before products I prime again and put the acrylic on wet primed nail. Good luck.

I plan on having polish on my nails... does it make a difference what color powder to use?

Asked by: Sara9421
I always use tips and acrylic on myself. Nail tips ranging from natural to pearl white and I only use extreme pink powder in any brand that I use. I have no problem with polishes at all. If you are worried you can always try a white base coat from OPI of Finger Paints. I like Finger Paints white base coat the best, it's not a stark white.

Can this be used as a dipping powder? If so, what bonding agent or base do you use?

Asked by: NKBP563879
All the dipping systems seem to use acrylic as their dipping powder. Some may use the powder used in gel nails. I recently purchased a kit to see what the differences were with my own acrylic powder and nail glue. The first step, nail glue, is the same and the second step, dipping powder, was the same as my acrylic powder. I've been experimenting with dipping my nails using my acrylic powder and glue. I've been successful so far but have not been able to replicate the last step with the dipping kits. It seems to be an oil based spray.

You do mix the louder with nail liquid to apply on nail??

Asked by: Brigitte
I think she means "powder", not "louder", yes, you dip your brush in the liquid first, wipe off excess on the side of your dappen dish and then pick up a ball of powder with the brush and apply to nail. Depending on if you use a nail form or a nail tip, start at the smile line with your first ball and work out til smooth. You can use a one, two or three ball method. If you have any doubts as to how to apply, check out YouTube for "how to apply acrylic nail DYI" videos.
