1. Apply Base Coat.

2. Apply Nail Lacquer.

3. Apply Top Coat.

Follow these steps for a mani that lasts:

1. Start by applying OPI Base Coat or Treatment on clean, dry nails with cuticles pushed back.

2. For a perfect polish, apply one stroke of nail lacquer down the center of the nail, followed by one stroke along each side of the nail.

3. Smooth the surface of the nail with a final stroke of the brush. Then, apply a second coat of nail lacquer, pulling color over the tips of the nails.

4. Shine, seal, and protect with one coat of OPI Top Coat, pulling it over the tips of the nails to seal in color.

5. For a mani that's dry to the touch in minutes, apply 2 drops of OPI DripDry Lacquer Drying Drops to each nail.

CAN I USE THIS AS GEL POLISH IN A LIGHTED MACHINE?

Asked by: ROSIEGAL
The nail polish color itself doesn't matter, the top coat is what reacts to the gel polish curing lights. It's not "recommended" but I have a kit and you can actually use regular nail polish in any shade as long as you use the gel top coat.

Can regular OPI nail lacquer be used with a light for curing

Asked by: Barbara L
No light is usually needed.  It dries hard without a light but it may make it dry quickly with a light if you wanted to try. It is also easier to get off with nIl polish remover without having to soak it a long time.

Do the stores have this color?

Asked by: Suekraks
What color? When you are looking at a specific color on your screen, it does not transfer over to the question and answer area when you ask about it. You need to be specific about the color you're asking questions about when you write your question out. More like "Do the stores have Rosy Future?" But that question is already answered for you in the screen about each individual color. It will say whether or not it is available in stores, or available on line, or ONLY one or the other. It's located under the "Part #" like SBS-638030, the size 0.5 ounce, and the Qty one, right above the ★★★★★ rating stars. It's a lot quicker than waiting for an answer here! You can't tell how long it might take for someone else to #1, see your question, and #2, decide to answer it, if they know.

Why do you use laquer

Asked by: Annieboo
Lacquer is used as another name for the regular nail polish. The original nail polishes back in the 1920's really were thin lacquers, as they were the only kind with the right consistency to use on nails.

How can I tell if OPI nail lacquer is frosted or not??

Asked by: Mesalinda52
If a polish is frosted (or shimmer), when you look closely at the bottle it will look somewhat "silvery". You can open the cap and look at the polish on the brush too... a cream will just show the color with no shimmer to it at all. Hope this helps

I have had acrylic and gel nails for probably 12 years or more. I've recently taken them off and my natural nails are so paper thin from the drumel tool and years of acrylics and abuse. What product(s) do you recommend?

Asked by: monicalm
I FIND THE BEST PRODUCT IS "AMERICAN CLASSICS" GELOUS ADVANCED NAIL GEL COAT. IT WILL LEAVE A NICE THICK COAT, AND IT IS PROTIEN BASED TO STRENGTHEN. I USE IT ALL THE TIME AS A BASE COAT UNDER MY POLISH. SALLY'S USUALLY HAS IT... HOPE THIS HELPS.

Does this need an undercoat or overcoat to cure it?

Asked by: Pattrica
The undercoat or base coat does not cure polish.  The base coats function is to protect your nail from discoloration and to help the polish adhere to the nail better.  No polish requires a top coat to dry,  however if you want a glossy shine and extra protection against chipping and scratching of the colored polish you need a top coat. I use Seche Vite.  It both has a high gloss and fast drying time.  I hope this was helpful.

Is this available in Gel formula to use with LED light?

Asked by: marytger
The only brands with the gel formula can be found by using either the drop down menus - Nails -> Nail Polish -> Gels or by typing in the search box what you're seeking. OPI and Orly do not stock gel polish any longer. The last one to do it, discontinued them recently, so if you find any in the stores, better get them while you can!

does ANYONE KNOW what the color,"parisian pink" is?!? for those who may not...its a very pale, non glittery (but glossy), kinda "dull-ish", actually...but VERY SOPHISTICATED!! can ANYONE tell me is OPI makes this color?! cant seem to find it ANYWHERE!!

Asked by: laurie wilson
"Parisian Pink" is very likely a proprietary color name by whichever company first introduced it. Highly unlikely that other companies will not only copy the precise color and sheen, but also call it by the same name. If you know which company made it, and they no longer carry it, then the best you'll be able to do is try and find something close to it.

Your polish is called Laquer, Can it be cured under an Led or UV lamp?

Asked by: Rhonda560
Only if it says it's a gel polish requiring curing under a UV or LED light. I read in another question/answer that the "curable" polishes are being discontinued by OPI, so if you do find a specific gel color that they make that you like, better grab it up now. I don't know how reliable that is, so you can check it out for yourself probably on their website. (I don't use it anymore, but when I did use gel polish, I loved it!) Lacquer is just another name for paint, which is what nail polish really is anyway.

What polishes does OPI have in Mauve Colors?

Asked by: Stacs
It's best that you look at the color charts yourself to select your colors, since one person's idea of a "mauve color" and someone else's can be completely different. Are you looking for a "pinky mauve" or a "purpley mauve" or a "brownish mauve"? It makes a big difference! If you don't like the color representations here, and I have seen myself that some of them are a bit "off" depending on the screen on which they are viewed, then go to the vendor's official website for OPI and look at theirs.
