I like the builder gel, but my nail polish peels off in one piece in less than 48 hours.  I watched YouTube videos and have prep the nail with a nail prep and even used Bonder base coat and this still happens.  I have used regular polish. What’s wrong?

Asked by: Euroskn1
Same thing happens to me and with uv gel polish and it’s really frustrating

I know there is different types of builder gels and sculpting gels and some can't be soaked off, but I was wondering if the IBD hard gel sold at sally's could be soaked off? I've been using it for years, but always file it off instead of soaking it.

Asked by: kitkate13
Yes it can be soaked off. Works best if you use 100% acetone.

what kind of LED lamp for curing?

Asked by: electrosef
Hi! You can use any LED or UV ray lamp to cure this gel. Keep in mind this gel has a high heat spike! So be sure to cure in 3 second intervals. Ie; in the lamp for 3 seconds, out for 3 seconds and so on and so forth, then give it 1 full before removing the dispersion layer. 60 seconds in led or 2 minutes in uv. Hope this helps!

I purchased this product along with the Gelish Mini LED Light. I applied a thin layer, then I placed it under the light for about 3 min to cure, but it was still soft. Is anyone having that same issue or am I doing something wrong?

Asked by: Tonya HT
I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. You have to make sure to wipe it wth cleanser or alcohol to get that sticky layer off or you’ll never think they’re done. I use a LED light ($7) and I only have to cure my nails for 1 minute and then I wipe the top layer and they’re done

is this used to make nail extensions?

Asked by: jmc99797
It can be if you use a tip or a nail form; however, this product is NOT a soak-off gel, you have to file it off which you might want to keep in mind.

I prep nails/cuticles,hand file-buff, apply 1 coat soak off gel base, 2 coats color, 1 coat top coat and cure in LED. But to shape surface and sides for more professional, smooth look and remove ridges..would builder gel before applying color help? Or?

Asked by: Susan1899
Hi Susan! I do my own gel nails and I use an Acevivi professional nail file drill to shape the nails after applying the builder gel. After I add the new builder gel, shape with the drill (dremel-like) tool then shape with a nail file, then my nails are ready for color and top coat. Hope that helps!
