  • Creates adhesive bond between nail plate and gel products 10 Second LED Light cure time or 1 minute with UV Light Base for Gelish MINI Soak Off Gel Polishes
Gelish MINI Foundation Base Gel creates a double covalent bond to the nail plate. It creates the adhesion between the natural keratin in the nail plate and the artificial gel products. The chemistry is designed to work with various oligomer type products to create the same covalent bond. Cure Time is 10 seconds with a LED Light or 1 minute using a UV Light*.

*Minimum 36 Watt UV Light is recommended
  • Gelish MINI Foundation Gel must be cured with Gelish Mini Light for 1 Minute or LED Light 10 Seconds and other UV Light* systems for 1 Minute.

*Minimum 36 Watt UV Light is recommended
  • Apply a thin coat, sparingly, to lightly buffed and dehydrated nail plate after the natural nail has been cleansed with pH Bond. Apply with a firm force to the nail plate and then lightly stroke over to even out the application from cuticle to free edge.

Cure for 1 minute in the Gelish MINI Light, 10 seconds in a LED Light or 1 minute in a 36 watt UV Light. Once cured remove the tacky outer surface with a clean gel brush or a lint free clean wipe. DO NOT USE any cleanser, this is a dry clean of the surface.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great product, low quality packaging, very costly I have been using the gelish line continously for approximately 7 years. I am very pleased with the results of the gelish line. However, I have noticed that the last few times I have purchased the foundation and top it off product, the bottle cap screws on crooked, causing the product to become exposed to air and "clump." This forces another purchase and I have to discard a product that should still be available to use. It seems the gelish base and tip line quality have decreased, while the cost continues to increase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So-so at best and definitely overpriced. It's important to find a quality base coat otherwise removing your gel polish will ruin your nails. I tried the ASP brand at a Sally Beauty employee's recommendation and that was an awful experience. I then took a shot on the SUPER pricey Gellish base coat and top coat to find my experience removing gel polish greatly improved; HOWEVER, the foundation AND top coat thicken up SO quickly. I've even had to return bottles that I bought in the store bc I didn't check how thick they were prior to purchasing them. Ugh! A different Sally Beauty employee said that Gellish foundation and top coats are notorious for doing this, especially in warmer weather Additionally, the brushes become hard (and unusable) quickly. Yeah, I know not to paint my nails in front of an open window, etc, etc, etc. These still thicken and freeze up. I now use the OPI brand and am supremely pleased with the outcome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more nail biting! WOW! I have tried acrylics and did not like the cost or what they did to my nails. So, I stopped completely. I have been under stress and when I am, I bite my nails. My granddaughter (15) suggested I try this gel product. I can't believe how easy it is to use, only slightly more difficult than polishing my own nails. The best part is my nails are long again in only a few weeks, stopped my biting them and I am thrilled!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with results I decided to save some money and start doing this myself. I found it to be much easier than I expected. I get perfect results and have no regrets. This is a great product! I am so glad I tried it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from gelish I am a nail tech.....I usually use acrylic but decided to start trying Gels. I have never really used them before. What I always hated about regular manicures and even acrylics is they always dull out in a few days to a week....this stuff DOES NOT!! Its amazing. I am hooked. I may never use acrylics again. Its been a week and my nails are super shiny. I do wish the bottles were a little bigger but its ok, still amazing. Nails are dry immediately so no more smudging!! One tip....add one extra minute to each application...works best. I actually can walk around while curing!!!! LOVE IT I now own 7 colors,,,just wish there were more colors out....but im sure they are coming??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it I recently purchased the gelish basix kit and decided to experiment with it. since my nails are really short i wanted to extend them just a little bit. i had some nail tips lying around but no nail glue so i figured i'd used the gelish foundation gel instead. so i painted my nail with a thin coat of gelish foundation gel and cured for about 2 to 3 second under the gelish mini lamp and while it was still under the light i added the tip to my nail to secure it on; when the minute was up i was suprised to see that the nail held on as if it were glued with regular nail glue then i proceeded to adding another coat of foundation gel just to secure and even out the surface. and continued the process used to complete the manicure. only downside is i didn't have any clear nail tips to use instead. but other than that this product is aaaaamaaaaaziiiing

Even though I use this product the gel polish still peels off my nails in a few days . Any suggestions?

Avoid Dawn for dishes on your hands before a manicure. I learned this from a professional. it can interfere with a good bond.

What's the difference between the Gelish Foundation and the Gelish pH bond? Do I need one or the other? Both?

Asked by: Jillzy28
The foundation is your base coat that you put under the light. THe ph bond is a prep that sets your nails up for a good bond of the polishes. Takes off oils from the nail. You don’t put the ph bond under the lights.  Buy both!
