Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rescued a Split Nail I Thought Was a Goner I have read that if you have "matching" splits on your left and right nails, it is hereditary. I now know I will have a lifelong battle with my thumbnails. I managed to get my left one grown out, but the right one just kept creeping downward in spite of the glued-on tea bag paper (it's a thing), band-aids, TLC, etc.I bought this when I got desperate. I managed to grow out the split, thanks to the hard-shell cocoon this stuff provided. A couple of hacks: When the powder tub is new/full, pour powder into the lid -- as much as it will hold. That way, when you dip the glued nail into the tub, you have room to really move it around and you get a smoother and more thorough coat. Also, I cut a curve shape into the corner of an old credit card and stick it under the nail. If you're dealing with a split, you've probably trimmed close to the quick, and this lets you get a good seal on the top without gluing your nail to your skin. I think they should include something like this in the kit. I will never be without this kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, the help I needed I have a split thumbnail that is years old. No other product has begin to hold it together for more than a few hours until now. This one held it together for more than a week! I will just re-apply until it grows completely out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't last but about 4 days. The powder is very fine and is hard to handle. Made a bit of a mess while trying to get it onto the glued fingernail. Was hoping for more!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product! I had just broken a nail just below the nail line and was wearing a band-aid to keep it intact. I was in Sally's to search for nail glue and saw this product for the first time and decided to purchase it. IT WORKS WONDERS!! My only concern is will Orly continue to always and forever sell this. It's quick, simple and it most definitely works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty easy to use I bought this for a bad break in my nail but I never done this before. Very easy to use but a little messy of a beginner but with some practice and time it looks great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YES YOU FOUND THE HOLY GRAIL The Holy grail of nail fixes. - From someone with long natural nails who even wears only a clear nail polish to keep natural French tips. Even with an ENTIRE white edge of a nail breaking off, I was able to glue it back with it being not very noticeable and with the strength regained. Now imagine if I used colored polish... you wouldn’t be able to tell!

Is the Orly Nail Recue product the adhesive and silk power? Do you still have the Sally Hansen Instant Silk Wrap Kit parts 1 and 2. I have only part 2.

Asked by: vickirm1950
This is a powder that you dip your nail into after brushing on the glue which is included.  It works very well but the glue can only bought with the powder and it is the best glue. I would call customer service for any info on what they carry as this is a q&a forum that customers answer.

Is this product acrylic? I’m trying to find something that won’t harm my natural nails as I grow them out. I do want to eventually get my natural nails strong enough so I won’t always have to use a product to strengthen it or help prevent splits.

Asked by: Deanna89
No, there is no acrylic. I have nails that are very thin and break very easily. This did help and is probably the best product you can purchase for what you want it for. Good luck!! Kaye Woodrum

How do you remove it? Is it like the powder gel nail products at the salons?

Asked by: Sandeepandee
It is hard to remove with nail polish remover but it does remove it. I use non-acetate polish remover so it is not as hard on my nails but it is also not as strong as the acetate remover. Sometimes I just lightly file the nail part that has this product on it and it is thin enough to chip off. It is probably like the product they use in nail salons but it is not damaging because it is not on the whole nail.  I don't file the top of the nail down as they do in a salon either. I would be lost without this product

I am attempting to stop biting my nails.. However, when I let my nails grow out they peel right off. Would this help with my problem? If not what would you recommend?

Asked by: Bcombs15
My nails peel too.  I use this for special occasions to make my nails look nice, but when I take them off my nails peel.  I take supplements for nails, and it helps a little.
