Rated 1 out of 5 by from What happened?? This was my go to hair dye for years and now it comes straight off of my roots in either two days or a week. I have tried everything and will now have to find a different dye. Sad times :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this dye that one review saying her blonde turned purple is pretty laughable, hope she updates it after a few washes when it fades into the whitest ash blonde you could hope for. anyways, argan is my go to out of salon dye as it matches exactly the quality of my salon dyed hair. i'm ash blonde, and have lightened my hair below my roots and apply argan chrome dye semi-weekly. first couple days my hair is a very dark chrome and fades beautifully into a silver and then a white blonde. i love this dye, it keeps my locks so healthy looking and feeling.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from "Lightest Ash Blonde" is actually ugly purple! I dyed my hair last night with the Demi dye "Lightest Ash Blonde" and I even used the Demi dye from the same brand. I left it on for about 15 minutes and it was getting weirdly purple and I got nervous so rinsed it out and now my whole head is a dark, purple, grey color and I'm pretty upset. My beautiful blonde hair is ruined. This was my first time using this brand and I will NEVER use them again. So unbelievably disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I bought this at my local Sally's Beauty and It was my first time using this product. I must say that I love it! Doesn't have a harsh smell, applies easily and doesn't make a mess. The color I chose was 3rv Dark Red Violet Brown. Can't wait to see what it looks like in the morning. Definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hair Saver So after reading the reviews I gave this a shot. I have been a box dye level 1 for 6 years. My natural color is a level 3. Doomed right? Not exactly. After doing my homework and a failed hair salon attempt I decided to get to a level 9 balayage with a level 6 base all ash. I've got a big set of bravery lol. I had to strip my hair 3 times with color oops till it stopped working and it left the front of my hair a burnt orange (main portion I dyed) and the back like a carrot with hot roots. I was a total mess there was no turning back. I bleached my hair 5 times over 4 months I used 10 vol the whole time. Finally got my level 9 in zone 2-3 and the back bottom a level 8. In the midst of all this I have dyed my roots to mask the mistakes with a level 4 big mistake. I bleached bathed my roots to a level 6 which is by far as orange as can be. I tried to fix them with a permanent and created a bigger problem I overlapped and created a band I now how to clean up. I went on a whim to spare my hair from another beating and got this in a level 7 ash. I did not have high hopes but it worked. Killed all the warmth and fixed my banding. I acquired many tools to get this done bought a Swatch of levels of bleaching. This is important what we see and assess isn't always what it is, I see warmth someone else may not. But I would rather do things by definition than a whim. 1 thing to note about DEMO PERMANENT COLOR is that it is a deposit only, NO LIFTING. So it you lighten to a level 7 and that's where you plan to stay, get a shade up and always buy the brands developer or activating cream. Sadly that is how companies make their money. There are great brands just it well know that when you mix results are unpredictable due to the composition of the product on a chemistry level. Why would they make a color compatible with all developers if they can make money from that too. Needless to say get a Swatch so you know by textbook definition what level you are. And always go 1level up, stick to the brand you get with it's accompanying ingredients. Don't buy they cheap developer because your on a budget spend the extra 2 bucks and get the right one to get good results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made my hair very soft and shiny. Used the demi and permanent in 1N. I ended up accidentally buying the demi thinking it was the permanent but its fine because this turned out to be too blue for me. I had colored my hair with l'oreal preference in Blue Black Neutral base mix with half tube 1N perm color with 10 vol. It turned out too blue for me and didn't process the top half of my hair as well. So I went back in like 5 days later to put this on. Hoping it was a neutral base black. That's what it seems like on the packaging and I didn't really see anywhere that said that it was a blue base but once I had started putting it on my hair it seemed quite inky blue. (Not as much as the l'oreal) I can't say on behalf of the perm color in 1N if it's too blue but this was definitely a blue base black IMO. It did even out the previous coloring though and made my hair feel SOOOOOO soft and look so smooth. I really like Argan oil brand. I have also used their perm red color. I have yet to use the developers, they're pricey IMO and the only time I pick up the tubes of color are when they're on sale or buy 1 get 2. So I can't say if using it with the marketed developers are better or not. Not a huge fan of the tube system because I find it very hard to push out all the product. Especially when you're getting to the end of the tube and it feels like it's trapped in there and if you're buying it at regular price ( and how much product I use since i have thicker hair) it's kind of frustrating. Other then that and the black not specifying anywhere on the box that its a blue base, I really do love the product.

Double processed and toned (bleached) what likely would the results be? And....application and timing?

Asked by: Gailolson
Demi-permanent only darkens. It has no lift, so be sure to choose a light color. I have only used it on unbleached hair, and I love the conditioning property of it, but the color can build up and get too dark on areas that get covered over and over. I try to limit it to roots.

I am confused about whether or not developer is needed with the demi. If so, which one? My hair is previously dyed from a store brand--do I need to do a color remover before using this? I have curly dark hair with a lot of grey on the crown and sides.

Asked by: Amanda E
The DEMI has a specific developer for it; DEMI activating lotion, it is available at Sally's. DEMI- is a glossing color that will add highlights to lighter hair, and tone to darker hair. It will cover gray, but you will need to leave it on longer than recommended. Gray hair will show a much brighter version of the color, so be careful with reds, and golds if you have a concentration of gray in several areas, instead of an even distribution. If you hair is reasonably healthy, and it has been awhile since you last colored it, you will not have to use a color remover. If you are wanting to go much lighter than the color your hair is now, then you will need to use the same brand developer (one 'n only), and the permanent color. If your hair is damaged from bleaching out the color, you are safer with the glossing DEMI, in a shade lighter than your current color.

Would this work well as a toner to make my highlights less brassy?

Asked by: Krob8411
If you are asking about the DEMI, then yes you could use it to tone down brass, or reds. Use an ash shade. The DEMI is a SEMI-permanent hair color, and must be used with the DEMI- developer. DO NOT use another brand developer and expect good results, it won't happen. This product is designed to be used with the specific developers for what you are trying to accomplish. The permanent, the demi, are gentle on the hair, and can help you correct mistakes if you pay attention to what you are doing. The DEMI deposits color without lifting your natural (or not so natural-dyed) hair color. It works well as a highlighter for gray hair if you choose a lighter, or complimentary shade to your natural color, by coloring the gray, and adding tone to your natural color. The permanent will change your hair color based on whether you are going lighter, or darker, and depending on the strength of developer you are using. The ratio is 2:1; 2 parts developer to 1 part color. *** IMPORTANT- if you have over colored your hair it will be very porous, so you DO NOT want to choose a dark shade, or even medium dark shade, as it will over-deposit on your hair, coming out much darker than you think, plus you will have an impossible time getting it out. The colors in this product can be mixed to create the tone/ shade that works for you. It is one of the best hair colors for providing beautiful consistent color without excessive damage to your hair.

Can I use the demi permanent 3N over bleached hair without it turning green ?

Asked by: brebriee
I would not put this on bleached hair. My hair is naturally medium brown and it is almost black with no red undertones with this color.

I'm thinking of putting the medium blonde over my current medium-dark brown hair. I basically just want to brighten it up a bit. What do you think the effect will be?

Asked by: reese987
High lift hair colors lighten hair all over. It sounds like what you are really wanting is highlights though, not a full color change. I color my hair medium brown using Argan One and Only. I conditioned my hair with a deep cholesterol conditioner from Sally's 1st, and then I used a bleach powder from Sally's with a 20 developer and put in balayage highlights before coloring my hair, washed it out, and then I colored over this with my regular hair color. It created some dimensional lighter brown highlights. You control how long you leave the bleach on and I was conservative. Some people would use a 30 or 40 developer but that is faster acting and less forgiving. I watched numerous youtubes of beauticians doing the balayage before I attempted it.

Hi, 1. I'm a guy & have an Afro. Hair is kindof brown also which makes my Afro look a bit "faded". So thinking this product can work. Can it? your product from natural ingredients. No chemicals? 3. Do you ship to Nigeria?

Asked by: Beetee99
I can only answer question 1. Yes I think it would help to brighten your hair. You will have roots showing as it grows.

I have baby fine hair. I normally avoid argan oil products because they can be too heavy and cause breakage. Has anyone with fragile, baby fine hair tried this product? Input will be appreciated. TYIA

Yes I have baby fine hair also and I have been using the One 'n Only Argan Oil permanent 5N hair color and 10vol developer for 2 years. Its actually helped my hair to stay in better shape and healthier than its been before I dyed my hair. I love this product. It makes my hair look and feel great! I hope this helps
