Rated 4 out of 5 by from Proposed - Color-Depositing Deep Conditioner. I'm going to be trying Manic Panic for the first time. My brunette hair is un-dyed and has natural grey happening all over, particularly nearest to my face and along my temples and bangs: Very dramatic to start with. My unbleached grey contrasts with my natural dark brunette. ______________________________________________ Previously, I've been using Overtone Extreme Teal deep conditoner followed by Overtone Extreme Silver deep conditoner to cover my natural grey hair. It's doesn't show up much on the dark hair, but the effect ends up being this amazing, multi-dimensional look that I get lots of compliments on. But it's time consuming. (Mixing Extreme Teal and Silver together to save time didn't deliver the shimmery finish of silver I wished for, so I've been doing time-consuming sequential steps.) When I taketh time to do this, the look is mesmerizing! It's not obvious what I've done, yet it's wildly obvious I've done something extremely cool. However, I need it to last longer than a few days. It can take ~1 hour to do the multi-step conditioning to get this lovely effect...and then it doesn't last but a few days. Augh! So, I'm trying to replace Overtone and I'm looking to duplicate the Overtone effect, including the shimmery silver finish in an attempt to make this last longer than few days. ______________________________________________ Here's my proposed Manic Panic hack and I'd love to get a professional evaluation of my theory. I'm thinking of adding: • Atomic Turquoise • Enchanted Forest • Blue Steel (Stand-in for Silver?) to a base of Coconut Oil for an deep conditioner. I figured a 3-Hr heated wrap over this, then shampooing out, would be excellent. My hair and scalp love coconut oil conditioning. BTW: My hair is dry, thin, and naturally curly. It is also thinning to a degree. I use products, both oral and topical, to stop the hair loss and regrow it. It's working moderately well. What do you think? • Will my plan work? • Does Blue Steel replace Overtone Extreme Silver? • If not, does Mani Panic have a Silver? Feedback please. ~ Genna What do you think of my approximation?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blondes don't panic! Manic Panic is the stell shield that stops blonde brassiness in 5 to 15 minutes. I first used the Wildfire to dye my son's hair for the first time & being a blonde who has played with reds before I know I wouldn't touch my son's hair with anything permanent or fuming with chemicals & gunk. Thank the Holy Grail that is Manic Panic. So we had success with his red hair, love the consistency, simplicity & no odor or irritation or pink base like other temp dyes. So I have read countless blogs & such on Manic Panic Ultraviolet as a toner for blonde hair & I finally trusted the trend & my talents with dying tresses to cave & get a jar. I whipped up a mild lavender conditioner with a few baby spoonfuls of purple to a 16oz pump bottle of conditioner & after using GVP Conditioning Shampoo (purple shampoo) I marinate my hair in this pale purple potion & let it sit while I shave, sing, wait...then wash out with warm water, finish with cold & voila your hair is beautifully blonde. I tend to get some gentle grayish/silver streaks but I love the effect because I'm scared to attempt silver hair so this is the perfect blonde solution with possible bonus of violet/blue/silver streaking depending on your level of blonde, hair porosity & blending ratios.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Omg love I just dyed my hair today! It looks so good! The bottom was bleached previously but the top was dark brown. I left the dye in for 3 hours and the top is dark purple and the bottom is a vibrant purple. Great ombré! Very conditioning! I used electric amethyst.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love It, My Hair Loves It! I have been using Manic Panic for years because of it's gentle ingredients, it's Vegan, Cruelty Free and I get awesome results. My new fave colors combo is mixing Vampire Red with Hot Hot Pink, it lasts forever in my hair. I read to use conditioner after you have rinsed out the color in cold water. What a great tip, it really locks in the color.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from i have a love hate relationship with this product so a little while ago, i had bought 2 containers of the rockabilly blue and 2 voodoo blues. i first used the voodoo blue, following the instructions carefully, and it looked AMAZING. lasted a very long time. when i uses the rockabilly blue however, it made my hair look dusty and the color would easily come out onto my face and hands. it was out within two weeks (and i only wash my hair every 2-3 days) i tried voodoo blue again, got amazing results again, and it lasted about 3 months (i used the same routine as i did for the rockabilly blue). recently, i tried the rockabilly blue again, thinking it was just something up with that specific bottle, i used my last thing of rockabilly blue, and alas got the same results. moral of story: don’t get rockabilly blue- it sucks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wild Fire I bought this expecting it to be a bright red. After I aplied the bleech and put in the dye. I waited about 30-40 minutes. I washed it out, and my hair was a orange color. I am disapointed that the dye was not red

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great when applied correctly! I have really long, black hair, but I also have some beached streaks and use Vampire Red for some color. When I apply the red, I use the blow dryer (lowest setting) for about ten minutes to help maximize the lock in of product color. If I use cool water and wash my hair out every two to three days in the sink instead of the shower, the color stays in for about two months. I can make it last longer if I wait even more to wash my hair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful color, but bleeds a lot I bought this dye because it's semi-permanent and it'll eventually wash out and I needed to cover 2 faded blue streaks I put in my hair for a touch of color, so I chose the darkest red I could find which is what I wanted. I put it over the same 2 streaks that I put the blue on, washed it out since my hair is bleach blonde and didn't want it to bleed onto my other hair, which it did a little bit but I wasn't worried because it still looked good. I figured that after the first wash or two it would stop bleeding, but it hasn't and now the bottom of all of my hair is pink. I will be switching back to the other brand. The blue was from Lorael and it didn't bleed. Both were semi-permanent dyes. Just a sucky experience but the dark red is gorgeous!

How mam jars of manic panic will in need to dye shoulder length hair

Asked by: Sexispycho
Also depends on how thick your hair is however, one jar will usually get you through but I suggest two jars just to be safe.

will this work on white hair with no melanin MY Hair is naturally white

It should work great. I don't think a lack of melanin would affect it at all.

I want to color one of my wigs that's already a copper reddish brown a bright red, will manic panic do the job?

Asked by: Corijewel
If you're looking for the most vibrant result,I would use a red from their Amplified line, as these formulas are designed for darker hair colors. The original formulas give "true to box" results most consistently on light blonde shades.

So my hair was colored a dark red and after a few weeks, its faded to a coppery red color. So if I just put this purple haze on top of it, what color will it turn out to be? Will it still be a dark purple color?

Asked by: BeeTee123
Probably a dark plum

Does the color fade well?

Asked by: manda158
I have been a color specialist for 20 yrs and it will most definitely stain your hair and NOT completely fade due to porosity of the hair from pre-bleaching , dryness, and any other chemical or heat processing.

Do I have to bleach before using the product?

Asked by: Karlaa93
You don't have to but for best results it is recommended that you bleach till you get a pale blonde like the inside of a banana peel.
