Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost too Good to be True I needed a setting lotion to use on my relaxed hair after shampooing to give it a curl that holds and some body. Had tried using setting lotions before - not good - left my hair , frizzy , flaky and dried out. So I just stopped using setting lotion. Got tired of my hair without any body or bouncy curls - decided to check Sally Beauty website for setting lotion products- read reviews on Proclaim Super Setting Lotion. Decided to give it a try. It works like magic! I don’t have to dilute it, curls beautifully , leaves hair with body and shine . it’s everything I was hoping for and more at a great price . Yes, I definitely recommend this product. Go

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long-time HG This review is long overdue. My mom started using this product on my relaxed hair in junior high for my rollersets. I'm still using it at 25. My hair hates lottabody, including the new line. Had high hopes in the new formula, but it still doesn't compare. Sorry. I took someone's else's tip and transferred it to an old foam pump bottle for easy application, no diluting. One bottle still lasts for months; great price. What I love the most is that I can never use too much, my hair is always soft and smooth; never heavy, combs out easily my sets last all week when pincurl at night. I also use it for flat twist outs on wet hair right out of the shower. I maintain them with chunky twists at night. I have airdried with it, but I do feel a difference when I use heat so I prefer heat. The shine is perfect and my hair loves glycerin so it detangles it as well. The only con I have is that I live in Illinois (humid), but I grew up using this in Texas (dry). So it took a little while to figure what helps it stand up against humidity: my Shea butter mix. It's still 5 stars none the less : ). Highly recommend it for relaxed hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from setting lotion just OK Perm did not take that well. Now using this to keep the curl. Especially on the top which totally failed. Ok course, our daughter's wedding is in 2 weeks so this will help. Better than nothing. Long ago, I used to use a thick gelatinous serum which I dipped a comb in. This I just spray on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent For Roller Set Since bioINFUSION Olive Oil wrap & set foam is no longer available, I've been looking for a replacement. I've tried so many lotions, gels, etc., looking for something for roller setting. I want a product that's non- drying, won't strip halr color, won't leave my hair feeling hard and gives me body. This product does what I want. I read review that recommended Elan setting lotion. After reading ingrediants on Elan, I'm staying with Proclaim Super Setting Lotion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vintage curls! "This setting lotion works great. I dilute it with water and put it in a spray bottle or a foam bottle. It holds well, but it is never hard or crunchy like gel. Never flakes. Leaves no residue. I use it to create a pin curl or roller set in a vintage style on thick Caucasian hair. It makes a roller set or pin curl set last for a whole week. Since you dilute it so much, it is very cost effective. Lasts forever. Sometimes I use it on wet hair, sometimes I use it on dry hair to dampen it to curl it. It gives hair lasting volume and body. I also use it scrunch curls in my naturally curly hair. Way better than the usual sticky curl gels."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lot of bang for the buck Surprise product results and the cost is a big bonus. I have used every gel, cream, lotion to get my Afro-American naturally curly hair to curl after years of using a flat iron. I spray it on and use a foam bottle to apply product. I love it, love the results, love the hold, love the feel (not crunchy) and you can't beat the price. Who knew!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's not that great for fine, hard to curl hair. I've been experimenting with wet sets for retro styles. This product holds better than Lottabody for my caucasian, fine, pin straight hair. But I also tried Elan Conditioning setting lotion, and that is MUCH better than this product as far as hold. I slept on the Proclaim set and had to recurl it with a curling iron. I slept on Elan, looked beautiful the next morning and all day, and received compliments. If you have hair that curls easier, this is a good product for the money. For those of us that have a harder time, use the Wella Elan.

Has anyone tried putting the solution in an empty foaming bottle to make foam?

Asked by: MindyP679
Yes it’ll work in a foam pump bottle just fine. I keep mine in an empty bottle of Motions foam wrap. Never used a hand soap pump though.

Can I use this lotion for my synthetic wig? To Re-curl. Or is there other setting lotions for wigs? Tnxs

Asked by: CentralPA
You should use Mane n' Tail Detangler Spray for your synthetic wigs. I use it on mine and it works terrific because it's gentle, effective and it has a very light fragrance (not a heavy awful scent). Either spray the wig with water first, comb through, then spray the leave-in conditioner in OR use 1/4 water and 3/4 conditioner in a spray bottle and comb through. Use hard smooth rollers (not the velcro kind) to set the wig hair on and to dry naturally or put the wig underneath a hair dryer on a low heat setting to dry.

I'm not a hair dresser, my hair is straight. What's the amount of water I mix with SUPER SETTING LOTION for my over night hair roller solution. I'M NOT DOING A WET SET & SIT UNDER A DRYER here AT HOME?   '

Asked by: Florrida
Hi, not a hairdresser- I have medium length straight hair and I use 1 part solution to 2 parts water. Even 1 part to 3 parts water seems to work fine... you might experiment to see what's best for you. I sleep on rollers overnight and when I brush out in the morning it holds all day. Warm wishes from Washington :)

I want a product I can put on my hair before blow drying that when I use the curling iron the curl will hold better.

Asked by: Number 1
Not sure I can help I have naturally curly hair I apply to wet hair and when it sets wonderful tight curls. I also use for Velcro roller sets to make my hair straight and volume very excellent. Have not tried with hot rollers or curling iron. I Will try it when I get some time!!

The reviews say to dilute it. How much do you dilute it? Plain water to dilute it? Put it in dilution in a spray bottle? Can I use it full strength? You think it would be ok to use on thinning hair? Is this product have no alcohol?

Asked by: go2donna
Diluting is just a preference so it depends on you. It's not in the instructions. I recommend trying it straight THEN if you're not satisfied try diluting by 1/4 until your happy.
