Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent brush. . . BUT Excellent brush. ..BUT, the bristles fall out after using for about 6 months. When rubber comes in contact with oil this can happen, and the padding is rubber. The boar bristles in this brush are the best ones I have found, even the really expensive brushes do not give my hair the shine that this one does.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd purchase of a great brush I bought this same brush about 8 years ago and have loved it for a long time. Well, I thought I lost it a few weeks ago after I washed it and was letting it dry. Turns out my dad took it. I let him have it and bought 2 more (1 for my wife, 1 for myself.) It's great for straight and wavy hair that is either medium or fine texture. I don't think it would do much for anyone with other hair types because the bristles would probably just bend and not penetrate well. There are other brushes for those hair types, my mom loves another one from Sally's. It's black and squared off, with longer nylon bristles in-between and more firm bristles. It has lasted her 8 years, too (yes, we bought them the same day and we take our brushes seriously. lol.) It is also gentle enough to use as a dry brush for skin exfoliation. I recommend anyone who buys this brush to wash the bristles first with shampoo and let it dry upside down, it seems to have a thin coating on it that makes it hard to use at first. The more you use it, the better it gets. Like a fine linen. Just remember to keep it clean. If it is making your hair super greasy, it's probably time to clean it. I clean mine every week or two. Though if you are brand new to BBBs it might make your hair greasy at first because it takes time for your scalp to adjust to how much oil it's producing. It's great as a scalp exfoliator. My hair is fine and straight but very dense. So I section my hair once a week or two and sort of rub the brush on my scalp a bit on that section, then brush downward to the tips. It feels nice and I also notice scalp improvement. When my scalp has build up on it, the oil it produces is very waxy. When it's clean and exfoliated, my scalp's natural oils are easier to penetrate and distribute through my hair. I'm hoping these brushes lasts as long as my old one and longer. My one complaint about the new version as opposed to my original one from 8 years ago is that the bristles are less densely packed than they used to be. It doesn't seem to make too much of a difference in it's use, but I do feel the need to tell anyone this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok if you have VERY fine hair I don't have very thick hair, but this brush won't brush all the way through my hair. It feels like it is only getting to the top 30% or so. It is like a baby brush or something. Weird.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected. I bought two brushed when I order and this one I am not so happy with. It just doesn't seem to go thru my hair and my hair is very thin, but it will do for the price. I can not use this when my hair is wet because it just doesn't do the job, but for at night when I am just doing my 100 brushes it works okay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love this brush! I bought this brush as a replacement for another oval cushion boar bristle brush that I had for 5 years. My hair is thin/fine and this brush is perfect! The only issue that I’ve experienced with this new brush is that it drops some bristles every time I use it. Other than that, Perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good natural boar bristle, genuine wood I purchased this brush for my husband and it is equivalent to other much higher priced boar bristle brushes for thinning hair and natural scalp-stimulation and oil-distribution, but I saved almost $70! It has a sturdy attractive wooden handle and well-seated bristles. It is also wide with an easily grasped handle so can do its job in just a few swipes on the way out the door, for someone who is always in a hurry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Quality!!! i bought this brush this morning and im in shock... not a single bristle has shed so far, I have hip length fine hair that is quite damaged at the ends so its usually quite painful to brush and I lose a lot of hair. brushing my hair is now painless and actually feels good :) for the first time in a long time I'm able to run my fingers through my hair without hitting snags and I didn't even use any product. the construction is quite good with a nice, good size oval wooden handle that feels good in your hand, the bristles are dense enough for its purpose- 100% boar bristle brushes are not meant to detangle your hair. if you want something like that id recommend the ion or denman brushes that also include nylon bristles. for the price this is a very well made brush that far surpasses the performance of brushes in a semi- higher price range from more popular brands (goody, conair, etc.) quite similar to spornette imo.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meh Not as great as I had thought. Maybe it's best to fix edges but with anything else it fell flat.

How hard is this brush

Asked by: Johnnifer
This is a very soft and gentle brush. Surprised me how gentle it was. I have extremely fine hair and need a brush that doesn't tear the follicles. This is it!!!

How long is this brush? Why does no one ever give dimensions? I am looking for something for my purse.

Asked by: jpersico
I've used this brush for over 20 years (not the same one). My girls and granddaughters love it too. It's about 8" long and 3" wide. Unless you have a big purse, I think it's too big.
