Rated 4 out of 5 by from Had it for 4 years now I've had this straighter now 4 years and haven't had any problems! I have very thick and frizzy hair as well. Once it craps out I'll definitely be buying another one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GETS TO HOT TO HOLD & SHORTS OUT! I HAD THIS FLAT IRON FOR ONLY 3 MONTHS TOP , AND I NOTICED THE HANDLE WHERE THE BLACK IS WOULD GET SO HOT YOU COULDN'T HOLD IT. I THOUGHT THA WAS ODD , WITHIN TWO DAYS LATER IT SHORTED OUT. I CALLED SALLY'S IN THOMASVILLE WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT OR REFUND ME DUE TO NO RECEIPT OR EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS PRODUCT. JUST SAYING WHEN YOU PURCHASE SOMETHING OF $50 VALUE YOU WOULD HOPE THAT THE STORE THAT SOLD IT WOULD STAND BEHIND IT!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t Waste Your Money I’ve had this straightener for less than 2 months and it’s worthless. It doesn’t straighten very well and it makes my staticky. When I try to curl with it, it makes my hair frizzy and doesn’t curl the whole hair strand. The heating options are lukewarm and burning. There’s no in between. My old $20 straightener worked 100% better than this one. And in the less than 2 months I’ve had this, it’s already fallen apart. People, don’t waste your money on this thing!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Returned I bought this and after two attempts returned it. My 3 year old straightener from Walmart works better than this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great!!!! I was surprised how smooth it through my frizzy wavy hair. Leaving my hair soft and straight. The only thing I have with it it doesn't stand up on the counter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T DO IT Listen, if I got this straightener hoping for a good one worth the price, I would've been VERY disappointed. The only reason I got it is because the one I wanted was out of stock. This one is not digital, which I didn't care until I had a digital one and saw how nice it was. The plates are small. I barely have hair to my shoulders and it was just too small. The chord is short. It spins as the chord gets turned around which is nice. The plates don't really do anything special to your hair. I say all this to say I had another Tool Science straightener it's the only one on here that's 1 1/4" plates and it's like $10 more than this one. It's got a major long chord, digital, the plates do something to your hair idk how to explain it but it's like it makes it smoother. I had it for 5 years and the only reason I'm replacing it is because it was STOLEN. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I began purchasing an ION hairdryer and received a travel iron, my first ever. After using it for a short time I wanted more so off to Sally's I went. The sales woman was helpful in describing the difference of full size straightening irons. I had read the reviews and decided to try this one. GREAT CHOICE! The full size plate makes my hair styling go at least twice as fast. My hair is thick but fine so I began with the lowest setting and went up only once to achieve the sleek, shiny, frizz free, beautiful look. The settings are easy to read. It does run hotter than the travel model. You will be very happy with this tool. Oh, while I was practicing I slightly burned my finger so be careful until you get the grip right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST flat iron I've used I've tried several flat irons in the past, Conair, the Brazilian something or other, CHI. I thought CHI was the best, but it still took multiple passes to work, even at the max temp of 410° (and a high price!). THIS flat iron however, does exactly what it's supposed to in ONE PASS! Plus, like others have said, the curved plate edges are better than other ones with a "squared" edge. Holy moly, I have never been so happy about a flat iron purchase, but I am glad I bought this one because it works just as well, if not better than what they've used on my hair in a salon. Obviously, you'll need a heat protectant product so you don't fry your hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value This is my first 'pro' flat iron. I've used drugstore brand curling and flat irons for years thinking if you find a good brand, they were pretty much the same as those in Sally's. After buying a 'pro' curling iron (different brand) from Sally's and being so happy with it, I decided it was time to 'upgrade' my flat iron. This iron did not disappoint -- I really like the extra long curled-edge floating plates (this is why I bought this particular iron). I also like that you can custom dial your temperature instead of pre-set temperature settings on other irons. But beware -- when using this iron for the first time, use the lowest setting on your hair first -- then slowly increase heat to find the correct setting. With drugstore irons, I usually set my flat iron to a medium to high setting (400 degrees being the highest heat setting -- so, with my drugstore brand, I figured I was using somewhere around 350 to 375.) With this iron, I had to turn it way down to the lowest setting, which is 300 degrees. At first, I set the iron to what I used on my drugstore iron, and I smelled burning, even with heat protection product on my hair. (I have fine, medium length, color-treated hair.) I took off one star because the temperature dial was extremely hard to read, even for my 16 year old.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Flat Iron This is my first flat iron. My hairdresser suggested I get one. It heats quickly and works very well. The edges are rounded, so I can get a bit of curl. I have short hair and really need the lift/volume. This flat iron does the job. It took a little work to get used to using it, but once I did it worked great. It does get a little hot to touch, but nothing too serious. I lay it on a folded towel on my counter just in case. It falls over easily, though. All-in-all, I like it. I received a free gift with this order. It was shampoo & conditioner in a nice little bag. The bag is good, but the bottles of the shampoo & conditioner are so hard you can't squeeze them to get the product out. It doesn't just flow out of the opening on the top. Also, the tag enclosed said there was a comb included, but there wasn't. The products were nothing special.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This flat iron came highly recommended & I see why I went to my local Sally's Beauty Supply specifically for this flat iron that came highly recommended. After using it only once, I completely agreed. One feature I really like is the ability to adjust the temperature depending on not only my personal needs, but if there were more than one person using the same flat iron, the temperature could be changed depending on different hair textures, styles, etc. I prefer my flat iron to have a "curved" side for ease in curling inward the ends of my hair which this particular flat iron has. I've used flat irons in the past that have a "corner" like the edge of a rectangle, & they are IMPOSSIBLE to flat iron my hair the way I like. They end up making a VERY HARD bend rather than a natural looking "curl" or "bend." I've never forgotten to turn off the device but it's reassuring to know that it has an auto turn-off just in case! This is the most $ amount I've ever spent on a flat iron, but you get what you pay for....so I'm happy to pay for a quality product.
