In winter I use hand lotion but my hands are still rough and red. Any suggestions?

Hands tend to get more rough and red in the winter because the combination of indoor heat and dry cold tend to make conditions dryer than at any other time of the year. Apply a super-moisturizing hand lotion after bathing or washing hands to help seal in the moisture. The massaging action stimulates blood circulation throughout the hands and promotes the absorption of conditioners into the skin. Be certain to apply hand lotion frequently during the day if your hands are very dry. Keep it handy—in your car, by the kitchen sink, and in your desk—so that you to remember to apply it. Additionally, you can give yourself an overnight treatment by applying hand lotion before bed and wearing white cotton gloves. The gloves help warm the hands which makes the lotion more effective.
