• Fusion - Loose strands are “bonded” to the natural hair, near the scalp, using either a special type adhesion or a clamped link. This time-consuming, strand-by-strand technique creates a natural look.
• Weaving or Sewing - The natural hair must first have a “track” through which the hair extensions are then woven or sewn in. One method of building a “track” is to cornrow the natural hair, The hair extensions are then woven through the “tracks” using a special tool. Bulk or weft hair can be used for this method. This is a very secure method.
• Braiding - The hair extension is “braided” onto your own natural hair using any of various braiding techniques. Bulk hair is used for this method.
• Bonding or Gluing - This method uses tracked or weft hair extensions that are applied with a special type of hair glue. The bonding is applied sparingly on the tracks and is placed on the hair near the scalp. Bonder should always be applied and removed according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Clip-in - This is a “quick fix” technique that doesn’t require a lot of time or effort. Special snap clips are sewn to the weft of the hair extension and are then clipped into hair. These can be easily removed and later reused.
• Ready-to-Wear Hair - These hair pieces are quick and easy to put on and take off, often with a built-in clip or elastic. |
