BEAUTY SOLUTIONS: HAIR COLOR
HAIR COLOR 101: Select a Shade
> First, ask yourself whether you want to lighten your hair, go darker or stay at the same color level and cover grey.

> If you want to lighten your hair, you need to consider how much lighter you want to go from your natural color. Generally, the light lighter you go, the more frequently you will need to re-color. For going lighter, permanent hair color is a good solution. It has the ability to lighten and add tone as well as cover grey. To go lighter with less maintenance, consider highlights instead of overall lightening.

> If you want a darker color than your current shade, consider a demi-permanent hair color. This product is designed to deposit hair color with tone and shine, and will cover grey without lightening your color. If your hair is permed or relaxed, or if you want to try a new color, semi-permanent may be more appropriate.

> If your skin tone is fair or rosy, and your eyes are hazel or blue, complement your skin tone with a hair color tone that has a cool or neutral base.

> If your skin tone is fair to medium , golden brown or darker, and your eyes are hazel or brown, you can use most any hair color tone, leaning towards golds, warm and vibrant red shades.

> If you are over 50, avoid color extremes. Skin also tends to fades as we age, so that very light blonde shades can wash you out; deep brunettes can look harsh.
