Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rockabilly Blue I used this color on my hair a couple of weeks after getting my hair bleached at a salon. My normal color is a medium brown and I had it bleached to a light/white blonde. I did the Rockabilly Blue at home myself. This was my first time ever coloring my own hair and also my first time to have "fantasy" colored hair. I LOVE the way it turned out!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ultra violet i had bleached my hair and used the color ultra violet, it came out as a really really dark blue, very vibrant color but not purple at all, it washed out in 4 washes and faded to an ugly grey, i wouldnt say it's worth the $11

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best stuff EVER!!! So I ended up getting this color while I was pregnant and my aunt offered to take me to get it from Sally's. I couldn't use regular hair dye cause the fumes made me sick to my stomach. This was two years ago and all I have to say is I love this stuff it works better then the real hair dye itself. It was cool too cause when you put heat on the part you put the cotton candy pink on the heat will turn it a purple color for a little while. So so so love these products and so much safer to

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Midnight Blue I like how color turned up and I didn't even get my hair bleached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wrong Shade I had black virgin hair, i bleached it with 30 developer and then colored my hair with "Shocking Blue" but this shade was not at all blue, instead a very clear purple. I was still very satisfied with the product. But if you purchase Shocking Blue, be prepared to see a purple shade instead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the color, don't like my tub The color is great! Nice and vibrant even on my dark brown hair. Didn't like that my tub looked like I killed someone everytime I showered. And it would stain my skin anytime I sweat, which living in Georgia, happens often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Booster of my Violet I use this mixed with a conditioner once a week to boost my purple permanent color. Works quite well to keep it fresh and vibrant.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color is cool. Not what I wanted but I like it. It's washing out fast. Not the color I wanted or what was pictured.

How long would it stay in my hair for?

Asked by: Alyssa 54
The colour stays true for a couple of weeks more or less but you will notice that it washes out gradually in the shower every time you wash your hair. For this reason, Manic Panic advises people to retouch fairly regularly if you want the colour to stay true. It can look really cool as it fades, and it will never fade completely on its own, but if you really want the colour that you get when you first dye it, you'll probably need to touch it up every couple of weeks or so.

i have brown hair and i'm wanting to dye it a lavender color. which color would be best?

Asked by: bwebb200
Honestly, you'll probably have to bleach your hair to get the color to show like you want. The good thing about that, you can use a light lavender and it will show. My hair is blonde/light brown and when I go to do my roots, the color wnot take unless I bleach my hair.

what do you wash it out with? Do you use a regular shampoo and conditioner, a certain kind that you have to buy or just rinse it out with water?

Asked by: madiiiii
I always wash it out. Sulfate free shampoo & conditioner

I tried the L'Oréal colorista in pink and it did basically nothing to my hair. So I wanna try this in pink but I don't want to lighten my hair. My hair is naturally like a shade darker than strawberry blonde. Do you think this will work even a little bit?

Asked by: Betty Jeanne
Depending upon which shade of pink. Cotton candy (and other light colors) will be hardly an effect unless hair is light blonde to platinum blonde. Red passion is a deeper pink and might be better if you want any effect at all. For optimal result of any color, bleaching hair to light blonde two weeks before coloring is recommended. Think of these haircolors as a transparent hue over your hair. They arent as instant or dramatic an effect as products like hair chalk, which coat the hair in thick color that washes out.

predye, mix in a little conditioner to the jar. post dye, if it's too vibrant, you can always shampoo it until it's faded to your liking

You don't need a   Developer with this product. You can always make it a lighter purple if you mix with conditioner a little goes a long way. Love this product

Does my hair have to be bleached in order to use this die??

Asked by: Abigail A
It depends on your hair colour and your desired results and which colour you choose. In order to get the full true colour yes your hair needs to be bleached and toned. You can still get vibrant result if your hair is naturally light. If your hair is darker you can get a subtle halo or tint effect depending and which colour you are using. Manic Panic has a pintest and they have hair charts for most of their colours so you can see the result on different hair tones.

I have faded red dyed hair and my natural color is like a medium brown. I'd like to use the rock n roll red but I'm guessing I need to bleach first? I'm afraid bleaching won't do enough and the manic panic will turn out orange?

Asked by: Andruh66
I would try it on your natural hair first to see if you are good with the finished product before you try putting lightener on. You might not need to lighten if you like it :) It will for sure be very very red on lighter brown hair.
