For long-lasting curl, it's important to first prep hair with a product that will give hair long-lasting hold. Use a setting lotion on damp hair; or a styling spray on dry hair. As to drying, the most important thing is to make sure the set is completely dry before unrolling the curlers. Using a bonnet dryer will dry the curl fastest. Remember to let curls cool before combing through or you'll weaken the curl formations. The same is true when using a curling iron or hot rollers.
