Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! It prevents me from using too much product. It's smooth and I can use it even in my most sensitive areas. It's easy to clean and use. Mine is glittery, one of the few 'girly' things I have and I love it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decent sponge This sponge is a little to sturdy for me but I still use it. It’s not quite as flexible as I would like.

How long are these good for? Only using on myself. I don't share any make-up or tools.

I purchased one last August, 2017, have used it daily, wash with mild soap and warm water, pat off excess water with paper towel, and let it air dry after every use. Shows absolutely no signs of wear yet! No drying out or hardening, still supple, no scratches, flaking, no pieces falling off at all. Just be sure to keep it scrupulously clean.

I opened the package. And it seems like the sponge is covered with plastic.. Is it covered with plastic?

Sorry, you need a more complete answer! It does have a plastic type covering on it, standard in this type of silicone applicator. Don't remove it, it's supposed to be there; just use as you normally would. Hope you find this answer more helpful! ;)
