Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tames the Brassy look. This was just what I needed. My hair was looking a little brassy, so I needed to cool things down. A little goes a long way. I added three capfuls to my regular permanent hair tint, and the next time I will add only two. I am also going to try a capful in my shampoo. Thanks Wella.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent way to cool warm/brassy tones The color cools whatever level of blonde you have lifted to very effectively, and stays put through many washes. My only complaint is that it is very dark when first applied. Perhaps I need to leave it in for less time, but then I’m concerned that the color won’t last long enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mix With T11 Toner For No Yellow brass! Works great with Wella T11 toner for taking yellow orange brass out on prelightened hair. I used 10v developer for 25-30 min followed with purple shampoo and the results are amazing!

Looking for a Gray or silver hair dye, that's permanent

Asked by: Barbies hair
My husband's hair turned white, which isn't flattering with his skin tone. I've been trying to years to find an ash color that didn't quickly turn brassy. I tried Ion Demi Permanent cream color in 'chrome,' and it turned it a gorgeous gray that has lightened since I first put it on, but kept it gray. The first time I used it I left it on for 40 minutes, but it was too dark. It faded beautifully to a nice silver gray, but next time I'll leave it for 20 minutes and see how that does. It might be worth a try for you.

I'm a level 6 to 8 with a lot of brownish red copperwith orange roots trying to even my hair color out a little bit will this help on it's own as a toner?

I would definitely say so!

I bleached my hair once and it is uneven with levels 7-9. How much of 050 should I use with 20 vol developer, and how long should I process it to neutralize the yellow/orange? I'd prefer an ashy blonde/brown as opposed to silver or grey. Thanks!

show me the shade

Asked by: Sushi1991
I use this as a "drabber" when I color my hair using Clairol #7RN and #6RN, using equal parts of each, i.e. 1oz #50Wella, and 1 oz. each of the aforementioned Clairol products. That totals 3 oz. Then I use 3 oz Clairol Creme developer. Hope this helps.

Do I have to use this as an additive or can I use it on its own like a toner?

Asked by: Mellbell123
I used this one as a toner once I bleached my hair and had a yellowish light color on my hair. I recommend using this toner on a hair that has a very few yellow shades. Because even though you think it will neutralize the yellow and orange shades, after washing your hair 2-3 times, it turns greenish.

Will I be able to highlight my hair again after using T-18 + 050? It says it’s a permanent color.

Asked by: Coolcolor
Yes you can still do your highlights. I use this often to tone gold in my hair after coloring.

If I want to use this to touch up my Silver how long should I leave it on? Its mixed with a 20 volume developer and my hair is already a silver grey. I am touching up due to the fade it's going through.

Asked by: xXPoisonXx
Watch it! It can turn violet easily. I use it as an additive only, mixing it with a color to get a true ash.

If I use Wella 050 and T18 with a 20 developer on already gray hair, what should the result be? I want to enhance with low and high lights.

Asked by: Mallanson99
I am no expert by any means, but I have used both products. The T 18 did very little to tone down the brassiness in my hair. Interestingly, ancestry DNA reported that I have a gene for red hair! Beauticians have always told me my hair pulls red. With that in mind, my ash blonde hair with little gray (more white highlights beginning around face) turns light blonde with half 20 developer and half 50 when applied for 5 to 8 minutes. If you are already gray, I imagine the result may go bluer than it does for me.
