  • Gulten Free, Phthalate Free, No Animal Testing, No added Parabens Ideal for permed, tinted or relaxed hair Rebuilds hair structure for six weeks Stops hair breakage

ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment has been used by salons for years as a service which provides more effective and longer lasting results than any single step treatment or intensive conditioner. This unique treatment is formulated with activated proteins and magnesium which fuse into the hair with the application of heat. Hair breakages is drastically reduced for 4-6 weeks following use.

During the process, ApHogee treatment hardens into the hair, dramatic evidence that something special is occurring. For best results a hooded dryer is required. After rinsing and moisturizing with ApHogee Balancing Moisturizer, the results are astounding. ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment can help improve other salon services as well and is highly recommended for hair that:

    • Is too weak or fine to take a perm, bleach, straightener or relaxer. (use the week PRIOR to service)
    • Is over-bleached.
    • Will not hold color. (use PRIOR to color application for 30% less fade after 10 shampoos and truer shades)
    • Breaks when combed or brushed.
    • Is mushy when wet and brittle after drying.
    • Has lost it’s curl pattern due to chemical over processing *

The ApHogee Balancing Moisturizer is the required second step. Sold separately.

  • Shake well before use! Keep out of eyes. If product gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water. (The pH of ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment is about that of lemon juice and it will cause similar eye irritation).

    Damaged Hair

    1. Gently cleanse hair with ApHogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair. Rinse thoroughly and towel blot dry.
    2. Apply enough ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment to thoroughly saturate hair and comb blend for even distribution.
    3. Leave hair uncovered, DO NOT use a plastic cap. Seat client under medium heat dryer. (Alternatively, a hand dryer may be used, but hair SHOULD NOT be agitated while drying.) NOTE: When ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment is dried into the hair, the hair becomes extremely hard. DO NOT comb or brush hair while ApHogee Two-Step ProteinTreatment is dried and in the hair.
    4. Re-wet and gently rinse thoroughly with warm water. Repeat.
    5. Apply ApHogee Balancing Moisturizer to hair and scalp. Leave in for 2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
    6. Proceed to next service or style as usual.

Bleaching and Lifting Color: Wash hair with ApHogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair, rinse and towel blot dry. Bleach or lift tint in usual way and rinse. Follow general directions for applying ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment.

Depositing Color: To provide a better matrix to retain color and reduce color fade on porous hair by 30% after 10 shampoos, ApHogeeTreatment may be applied the week before applying hair color. Alternatively, it may be used in color application, as follows: Wash hair with ApHogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair, rinse and towel blot dry. Follow general directions for applying ApHogee Two-Step protein Treatment. After rinsing, towel dry & apply depositing tint in usual way. Place a plastic cap over hair and check every 2-1⁄2 mins. A warm dryer may be used. When tinting is complete, shampoo thoroughly from hair. Apply ApHogee Balancing Moisturizer to help restore natural moisture balance to hair. Rinse and proceed with next service or style as usual.

Relaxing and Straightening: Do not use ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment within 24 Hours of Relaxer application. ApHogee is acidic and the hair and scalp should be allowed this time to equilibrate between the highly alkaline Relaxer pH and Two-Step Treatment Before Relaxer: If analysis indicates the hair is overly weak and in-elastic, prior to the relaxer service, we recommend an ApHogee Treatment at least one day prior to the service and re-evaluation prior to relaxing. Following Relaxer: If a relaxer service results in damage and breakage, wait 24 hours before application. If the service resulted in any scalp blistering or breaks in the skin, treat as called for and postpone the ApHogee service until healing is complete. (This is to avoid stinging)

Permanent Waves: Process perm as directed. When curl pattern is set and rinsing complete, towel blot hair on each rod. Apply ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment to each rod and dry under warm dryer. DO NOT use a plastic cap! Apply neutralizer and leave on hair for manufacturer’s suggested length of time. Remove rods without stretching hair and gently massage the neutralizer into hair and scalp. Rinse thoroughly. Apply ApHogee Balancing Moisturizer to restore shine & luster to hair. Rinse and style as usual.

Natural Curl Restoration: In cases where chemical processing or heat have relaxed the curl pattern on all or part of the head, some or most of the curl may be restored using a modified Two Step Treatment application, depending on the amount of damage to the hair’s structure. In cases of sufficient damage, curl pattern may not improve significantly, however, strength and texture will. Problem: Naturally curly hair begins to show evidence of uneven curl pattern, making cutting and styling more difficult. Causes: There are several possible causes of this condition.

    • Hair may not naturally have the same curl pattern around the entire scalp.
    • Damage from chemical processing may be heavier over some areas of the head than others. This may be due to uneven application of product, varying textures of hair or varying processing times across the head.
    • Uneven damage from heat appliances. This might occur, for example in a right handed person blow drying or styling more heavily on the right side of their head.

Using the ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment for Curl Restoration

    1. Start with clean, dry hair. Wrap a towel over shoulders.
    2. Apply Step-One of the Hair Strengthening Kit by “scrunching” through the hair until completely saturated. DO NOT COMB THROUGH HAIR. Even coverage throughout the hair is important! Be sure to protect eyes. If product gets into eyes, follow directions on box for rinsing.
    3. Allow product to dry into hair till hardened, then rinse thoroughly but gently. Repeat with warm, then cooler water.
    4. Apply Balancing Moisturizer, “scrunch” through the hair to distribute and keep on 3 minutes. DO NOT COMB THROUGH HAIR.
    5. Rinse gently first with warm, than cooler water.
    6. Dry using a diffuser and style as usual.
  • CAUTION: Please read and follow instructions on back label carefully! Use Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer after use of the Two Step Protein Treatment. Requires heat for best results. When protein has dried, do not bend or agitate hair. Always rinse thoroughly with luke warm water and follow with Balancing Moisturizer. For color treated hair, it is best to use prior to freshining color. Two-Step Protein Treatment is for Professional Use. For best results a hooded dryer is required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Five years later, Aphogee still performing I had used the Aphogee line about 5 years ago and it was great. Due to a new medication, hair was shedding regularly. I decided to try it again. Still works; two weeks and less shedding already.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Good This stuff has always, worked great for me but recently buying it from Sally's I noticed both times it had no foil seal like it always had before and upon using it seemed to take longer to dry then usual. Once it dries is when I have to rinse it out so I don't know if not having the seal had any effect in the product but seemed to do okay on my hair but not exactly as good as it had done before in the past with completely restoringvany dryness and loss if curl from lightening my hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helps with curl pattern but not breakage I have 3A hair and it did help get my curl pattern back after bleaching my hair. But it did not strengthen/ prevent breakage, if this is the case, I would recommend a bond sustainer instead.

Hello, is it okay to use Olaplex No.3 and then use the 2 step protein treatment on texlaxed hair?

Asked by: Dazariee
I’ve actually used this before, and then olaplex after. Here’s what I did. 1. Used this. 2. Rinsed and lightly combed my hair to detangle. 3. Put in olaplex step 3 and let it sit for about an hour or so. 4. Rinsed and conditioned with a mix of the balancing step 2 of this and the olaplex conditioner. Let it sit for an hour then rinsed. My hair felt like silk afterwards.

Does this come with both step 1 & step 2. The 4oz & 8oz looks like 1 bottle, instead of 2 products for 2 steps.

Asked by: JreamLove
I bought 2 separate products. This protein treatment and the balancing moisturizer. I used both products as directed.

This made my curly hair bone straight why How can I fix it

Asked by: Mimilove1
I'm sorry you had an unexpected result. I know that can feel traumatic. Did you use it more than once in a very short period of time? If so, stop. This is not meant to be used weekly/daily...and technically it's for professional use only I think; so be sure to read and follow the directions. Beyond that, try treating your hair to a deep condition treatment (or two, over the course of a week) and letting it rest. Signed,.. not a professional, but trying to help.

I wonder if this product can be used on henna dyed hair

Asked by: cecl2020
I'm sure you could because it doesn't deposit any color, but just make sure there's no chemical reaction between the henna and protein treatment, maybe do a strand test
