Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well, but be careful! I used this in titanium as I do my regular shimmer lights shampoo when I used to tone my blonde hair. This means putting it on super brassy areas on dry hair and letting it sit for 10 minutes. BAD IDEA. This turned my roots BRIGHT BLUE! However, that was user error and i am hoping it comes out easily. Using it in the wash did brighten up my silver hair. Not as much as I hadn’t hoped though so I give this a 4 star rating with the disclaimer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it but heres a warning It made my hair have a nice dark brown color and everyone loved it. But... i washed my hair ONE TIME and it washed out and my hair is green... mind you i like cool colors and i do like the green, i just was prepared for it and really didn't want green hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! Love! Love! I have super short hair and have been having a ton of fun with bright colors. Every other month I bleach my hair when I'm ready to switch colors. Once a month I use a permanent color and use these pigments weekly to keep my color vibrant. I used Sky Blue for the first two month. The color was incredibly vibrant and I absolutely loved it. I then went to twal and started using Jade. I'm actually a month overdue for a color change because I can't bring myself to give this color up yet. I call it a mix of peacock and mermaid. I did make the mistake of not using gloves to apply it one time and my hands looked like they belonged to a smurf but vigorous scrubbing with my loofa and by the time my shower was done there was barely a blue tint that was gone by the next day. Gloves are only needed during application. I comb it through to make sure I get even coverage and continue on with my shower before rinsing. This is a semi permanent color but as long as you go into it knowing that you shouldn't have any problems. These pigments also have wonderful conditioning properties and leave my hair silky smooth. I cannot say enough great things about this product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be careful! I was given this as a suggestion to help keep my red hair vibrant. My hair is a sort of coppery ginger and I used this once and my hair is full blown RED. I mean dark, deep unnatural red. Had that been what I was going for then great! But I specifically asked if it wold turn my hair the color of the product and was told no. My shower looked like a blood bath. Be really careful with this product...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For me great Was looking for something, not chemical. this blended my incoming silver and white and my bleached and dyed ends. I used the titanium. It will pull blue and gree if hair is pourous and damaged. You can use a red tint to neutralize it. I also read aspirin mixed with your shampoo will For me i like better than the purple and blue shampoos for brass.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fantastic!! I had dark brown hair before trying to go back to my flame red and nothing was working! I used the hot red 1 time and my hair was 3 shades brighter!!!! Will continue to use this product for sure!! Didn't give it 5 stars due to how bad it stained my hands after it was in a towel for 20 minutes before being blow dried other than that I'm in love!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I do not recommend this to anyone I had ashy blonde hair, and it would get a little bit yellowy. I went to the store to buy some purple shampoo and toner. The sales girl recommend this to me saying that it would be better for me and wouldn’t dry out my hair. That it would be a good replacement to tonning my hair which would dry out my hair more. I read the instructions and followed. Put the mask on for no more 3-5 mins. Which I followed. After washing it out, I had blue hair!!my biggest fear!! The following 3 days I tried to wash my hair to fade it. I washed it with clearifying shampoo, I even went as far as putting Ketchup on my hair. It went from blue, green, chlorine looking green and a light mint green tint. A week later my hair still has a green tumor. It totally ruined my hair. I do not recommend this to anyone!! And I will never take another recommendation from the staff at Sally’s

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I use the Red Hot to refresh my hair and it’s amazing. I mix it with my conditioner while I shower and put on a shower cap.

I have bleached blonde hair but it’s toned down and I am wanted to go back to a darker natural blonde, if I used this product in natural brown will it lightly darken my blonde ?

Asked by: MadiWoods
I would recommend diluating the brown pigment to a lighter tone (almost pastel) to your bleached hair to see if it is the color you want. Pigment will keep the color you apply on it. It will fade but it will stain some of the strains. Play with the shade you want.

Anyone have any luck with the auburn shade? Before and after pics??

I use the red.  It stains great. Makes a mess. Worth it for in between color.  Don’t gave before and after because I don’t let the red get dull

How do I get this color out my hair ?

Asked by: ameraz123
I mix baking soda and dandruff shampoo to pull out color. Depending on how much I want to remove,I leave the 1:1 mixture in my for 10-20 minutes.I give my hair a good scrub and rinse it out. Lastly, I use a deep conditioner and coconut oil overnight.

Will this show on unbleached brown hair? What will the colors look like? I'm wondering if I have to get my hair bleached first, or would I be good to go... Thanks!

Asked by: Sammiiee
I believe this product is meant more for already colored hair. It's used just to brighten up the color that's there. It's only left on for 3-5 minutes. For bleached then colored hair it works great! For unbleached, uncolored hair the Pigments may not "stick", especially in that short of time. For color I use the ion Color Brilliance Brights Semi Permanent Hair Color and love it. But there again, I have pre-bleached hair that's been dyed and I'm going over the same color from before. When I tried to do a semi permanent (Clairol from Fred Meyer) straight onto my unbleached brown hair prior to finding the semi permanent above, it wouldn't take. I had no idea what I was doing though, and I didn't use a pretreatment cream to prep it or anything. I do know that with the semi permanent listed above, I re-dyed my whole head along with trying to get my roots colored. I've read other reviews/answers for dyes before on this website and they suggest keeping the color treatment in your hair with a processing cap on for several hours. I tried it this last time and it worked great! Not only did I get a deep, bright color, my roots (untreated brown) soaked up some of the color too. There was still brown in them, but the blue showed up enough to blend nicely with the rest of my hair. I'm not sure what results you'll get, it all depends on what your hair decides to do, but I would suggest doing a semi permanent if you really want color. To make the color last as long as possible: only wash your hair in cold water (It keeps the cuticle of the hair closed and holds the color in better. Warm/hot water opens the cuticle and the color bleeds out, sometimes causing drastic fading.); use a "color-safe" shampoo (all shampoos will make the color bleed out a bit, especially with fashion colors, but you have a better chance with a color-safe one); use the ion Color Brilliance After Color Treatment (or similar product) not only as a treatment after you color, but after every shampoo as a conditioner (it says it helps close the cuticle to lock the color in the hair); wet wash your hair as infrequently as possible - use a dry shampoo in between wet shampoos. That's about all I've learned on my coloring journey. Good luck! Disclaimer: This is what has worked for me. I make no guarantee and cannot be held liable for individual results from this advice.

My daughter wants to use this as a temp color in her hair (she’s 8) would this product be ok to use? Will it rinse out without ruining her hair? The girl working recommended it to us and said it should wash out in a week or two but I see mixed reviews.

Asked by: Lex10019
It may last a little longer than a week or two. Typically this is used more to maintain bright colors than to deposit dye so unless your daughters hair is very light or the color you choose is very dark, don’t expect bold results. Using a shampoo with sulfates will help it wash out faster.

I just got my hair died purple but the purple ended up to be darker than i wanted it to be. I am thinking of using the neon purple shampoo to brighten the purple. Some of my hair is also still brown so i am worried about this ruining my hair. Any advice?

Asked by: Emilyemi
Mix it with regular conditioner and it won't be as dark.

what is the difference between the pigment and semi color? More permanent?

Asked by: lizzieha
Semi Permanent color does not require a developer. You only use developer with permanent color, or a low volume developer for demi permanent color. Think of your "pigment color masque" as a semi permanent conditioner. It stains like your semi would and has the added benefit of moisturizing your hair unlike the semi permanent on its own. Hope this helps!
