Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a difference! I bought this on a whim a few weeks ago after I got my hair done. I am going from a dark brunette to a light blonde, which takes multiple sessions. Unfortunately my hair pulled orange and I didn't want to wait between sessions for a fix. My hairdresser suggested purple shampoo and conditioner to tone it but I wanted more. For the price I figured I might as well try it. When I was bleach blonde ten years ago my salon would give me Malibu C treatment to try. These are pretty much the same thing, but with Malibu they wanted me to use heat - aka sit under the heat helmet. I would do it at home with a shower cap and hair dryer but I couldn't find the exact MalibuC they used to give me (if anyone knows which one is for blonde toning plz let me know!). I used this last night for 5 minutes then showered with shampoo and conditioner as usual - exactly 2 weeks after my dye. My hair did feel a little extra dry but with this Pittsburgh weather, who knows what caused it. So I let my conditioner sit a little longer. Today, my boss asked me if I got my hair dyed the next level already because it looks so much lighter/less brassy. She truly thought I had a hair appointment last night because of the change and is now asking me to send her the product and everything. This product is awesome! You won't be upset with this purchase. For the price you truly can't beat it. It's a true in-between color helper and I plan on buying more of it soon. I may even buy two packets and mix it directly with conditioner to soften it up a bit like a true toner. I only wish I knew how long to wait to use it again, as I could see it being a little harsh if you over use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does exactly what it says... I'm extremely happy with the results of my hair after using shock therapy. I have bleached hair and between using a toner that I didn't like and over toning with purple shampoo, I was ready to get all of the stuff off my hair and start fresh. I had already chelated my hair, but it didn't quite take everything out. So I followed up with shock therapy. It pulled 90% of of the excess toner and purple shampoo out of my hair and took it back to almost the exact color it was right after bleaching. Which I'm very happy with now. And I'm ready to go back to my t18 toner. :-) I gave it a 4 stars instead of 5 because the directions say to leave it on 3 to 5 minutes. But after reading other reviews, I decided to leave it on about 10 minutes, which did the trick. They should really add to the instructions to leave it on a bit longer if needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blonde boost! Inconvenient packet though :( This works well to boost my blonde. It brightens it and makes it look baby blonde. It’s 5$ a pack in Canada , so I only use before a date / weekends . Bad part : the little packet is so hard to open/ dispense in shower!!!! It needs to come in a tub with a pop off attatched lid and an attatched scooper .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful product!! I had made my level 10 blonde too ashy in my opinion and couldn't manage to wash it out after using this product i managed to remove all the toner from hair in one use. Now I'm back to naked bleached un-toned hair which i prefer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great if you like hair loss This product did not remove the brassiness from my blonde hair, but it did, however, remove tons of hair from my head. This product is extremely abrasive & there should be a warning sign for the amount of hair you will lose. No itchy scalp & I followed the directions as indicated. I suggest passing up on this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stripped my toner I colour my hair ash blonde and it typically starts off a bit brassy so I tone with ash blonde toner. I tried this out and found it seemed to pull more of the toner out of my hair so it's more brassy than it was before. Clearly it works well for a lot of people, but it may depend on the colour you start with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really whitens my ash blonde I tried this about three weeks after bleaching and coloring with wella 12a. Our water isn't great so I've had some brass. Washed my hair with the generic purple shampoo (also from Sally's) and let it sit for about five minutes. Toweled damp and then rubbed the product with a tsp of water and applied. Lather is nice, and I let it sit for 5 minutes. Rinsed out and wow, it's nice!

I have naturally blonde / strawberry blonde hair. During the summer I put Sun-In into my hair to lighten it up a  bit.  I was wondering if this product would work to lighten my natural hair color?

Asked by: Andrea87
I am in the same boat. I have natural bright blonde hair in the top layers and a somewhat darker reddish strawberry blonde underneath. I have been fighting hard water issues and I feel like my hair has been continuously grimey looking after the winter, even after rinsing with things like lemon juice, which normally works great. I tried this product, and I would not go so far as to say it lightened my hair, I still have the post winter darker roots that we blondes tend to get. However, my hair does FINALLY look clean! So it did brighten it up in that way so that it can sparkle on it's own again. Without being weighed down by the minerals and water crud.

I have brown hair with some blonde high lights. Will this products be okay to use??

Asked by: K_jack99
I only used this on my whole head. I went from Dark brown to bleached light blonde. And used this in between bleaching to refresh my blonde before using a blonde toner. I'm not a professional so I'm not sure what it will do to the brown in your hair, but it will renew the blonde.

Can you use this product on bleach hair? Looking for more white not pale yellow.

Asked by: Sassy white
Yes I use this product on bleached hair. I have a lot of iron in my water so it turns my hair yellow. Bold blonde make my hair bright again and not yellow.

Can you use on highlighed hair without effecting the dark hair?

Asked by: Shortydiva71
Yes! I have high and low lights and this product does not affect the low lights, but definitely brightens the blonde. One of my favorite products for sure!

I tried this amazing packet yesterday and what a difference! I was wondering how often can I use it without damaging my hair? For instance, every week or 2 weeks, or longer in between treatments? Thank you

Asked by: Rachels1975
I use once weekly just to freshen up my color. Also use protein cocktail after every shampoo. Hope this helps

Is this a color stripper or color remover?

Asked by: AriannaK
The sole purpose of this product is to reduce the brassiness in blonde hair, I just used this product last night on my silver-toned hair and while it did take out much of the silver, I don't think it's quite powerful enough to completely remove any colors, especially anything other than pastels. Beyond the zone does have a color remover packet though!

My sister, who is supposed to be a hairdresser, colored my roots last wk, & my roots turned ORANGE!!! I am dying!! Can anyone help Please??? I have color but don't know how to fix it. Thank you So much!

Asked by: LeeAnnKK
It is normal for darker hair to turn orange after the first bleaching. I would recommend deep conditioning your hair and (if your hair is in good enough condition), bleach again. Your hair will probably be a pale yellow color after the second bleaching. This is the initial color you should aim for. Once you have a pale yellow color, you can choose a toner or a blonde hair dye (not bleach) to tone out the yellow. Toners don't work on orange hair, so you need to first achieve the pale yellow color. If you are uncertain whether your hair is in good enough condition for multiple bleachings, I insist that you do a hair strand first. Everyone's hair reacts differently, so if your hair is not in good enough condition for bleaching, it can break and/or fall out. If you determine that your hair cannot take another bleaching, choose a ashy or neutral hair dye that is in the same color range or darker than your current orange color (hair dyes deposit color, hair bleaches strip color and can be more harsh on the hair). Please note that if you chose a blonde hair dye that is lighter than your current color, it will not lighten your hair. Only bleach can lighten hair. I recommend choosing a cool/achy hair shade to cancel out the orange. As for toners, I have seen many positive reviews of Wella toners on UTube. I recommend checking out UTube and watching the video reviews of people's hands-on experience with toners. I haven't tried this "Bold Blonde Treatment" so I cannot vouch for it, but to my understanding it is a quick fix for hair that has already previously been bleached and toned, but is beginning to become brassy again. I don't think it will do much for orange hair. I am not a professional, but I have many years of experience "experimenting" with my own hair. I hope this info was helpful. Good luck :-)
