What are the pros and cons of 10 vs 20 developer? I haven't dyed my hair in a while and don't remember which one I used. Thanks.

Asked by: marymaybe
I believe most use 20 volume but it got to where the color would not grab on to my gray so I changed to 10 Volume. The 10 works better for my  color resistant gray.

Want to color hair from blonde to brown. Do i use 10 volume with CG and then a mocha to deposit mixed with N?? Whats best product?

Asked by: Beautyschldropout
Yes 10 volume is generally deposit and slow lift I’ve also had good results with a semi/Demi developer and heat

If i have dark brown hair and i am trying to go burgundy. What volume would i need??

Asked by: ddavis05
I would use 20V because it sounds like you need to lift & brighten. 10V is pretty much deposit only.

My natural hair is a level 6. My goal is to achieve honey and caramel highlights. Will 10 developer and bleach do this?

Asked by: Linzzzyy
A 10 volume developer with lightener has the potential to lift your hair 1 level. If you want to go lighter than 1 level you will need to increase the volume of developer that you will be using.

If I put it straight into my hair will it lighten it?

Asked by: wonderinggirl
It is not recommended that you use developer directly on to your hair. 10 volume developer will provide some lift, typically one level of lift, when appropriately mixed with lightener or hair color.

What type of developer do I use for Matrix permanent light brown hair color

Asked by: lambchops
Depends on how light your hair is in comparison. If your hair is lighter and you're going darker than a 10 or 20. If your hair is darker and you're going lighter than you would need a 20 or 30. Do not use a 40. If you need more help send me a message on Instagram and I'll try to help!! ShaeBabyTM

Do I use a 10 or 20 if im going platinum blonde natural roots are dark brown an the rest dirty blond

Asked by: Alvarado
You will need to use this highest volume developer.  Most likely u will need to use on the scalp bleach.  And a toner to follow... make sure your hair is in good condition to do the process...getting it done professionally is your best bet.
