Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stuff at a great value! I like the scent of this developer and that when I use it to bleach my hair it seems to work well and is gentle enough. Bc I have dark Asian hair I went ahead and used the absolute perfection booster and color sealer which I feel in conjunction with the developer helped my scalp and hair from becoming too dry during the bleaching process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for sensitive skin. Regular developer burns my scalp but this does not. It’s also a little thicker and not as runny which I like. It’s the only brand I use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not my fave. Thick and chunky. Doesn’t mix well. I have never had issues with any other formulas. Have tried it with 2 different company colors with the same result.

Last time I colored was 8/23/20 I used garnier olia 9.0. It did a fine job. Got the desired color but was looking a little yellow. This time (1/7/21) I tried ion 9n and developer 20. Hair is too dark! How to fix?

Asked by: TA moore
possibly try a lighter shade of Ion hair color.

How much developer and color charm 3n/311 will I need to cover grays? They are sparse about 1 inch. Also how many drops of gray magic will I need to retouch grays?

Asked by: momneedshelp
I do 2 to 1 on color.  So if you mix 2 oz color use 4 oz of developer.  I’ve used the gray magic before but not in a long time.  As I remember it was about 10 drops per oz.  I think the directions are with gray magic.

I’ve been dying my hair with black box dye I’m trying to get rid of the black and trying for a light ash brown color what are the steps to achieve that hit color ?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello! You'll first want to use a lightener (such as Ion Color Brilliance Bright White Creme Lightener) with this 20 vol developer to lift some of the black. Then, use this developer with an Ion Permanent Creme hair color (such as 6A Dark Ash Blonde or 7A Dark Ash Blonde) depending on how dark your hair still is after lightening, and the color you are trying to achieve. Do your best! Hair grows back.
