Rated 1 out of 5 by from Website not giving the correct deals. I like the developer The website never gave me the deal on the developer I had bought 4 colors and the still charged me for the developer which was supposed to be free with 4 colors and I called the customer service number and they still didn't help me with this matter. This is more why I gave it a 1 star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely my go-to developer!! This developer is so good - didn’t burn as much and my hair still feels soft and healthy. Definitely recommend if you have sensitive skin, or if you are not used to putting chemicals in your hair. Has added natural ingredients for more comfort and protection

I am growing out my silver hair.My normal hair color is a dark auburn.I asked him to weave in silver, but it turned out streaked blonde with the auburn showing through. Will the Ion products turn the weaves silver or my whole hair? What do you recommend?

Asked by: teejay56
To get dark auburn to silver, it will likely take more than one highlighting job. Once a level 7+ is achieved, then you can apply your silver dye or tone your hair.

My hair is kind of a dark brown. If I mix this with Pravana hair dye (wild orchid) will it change my hair to that colour?

Asked by: Peebs286
No, sorry. That's a two-step process and this product won't work for any of it. With Pravana, you don't need any developer, but you do have to bleach the natural color out of your hair first.

I want my hair to be dark burgundy and my hair right know is black how much should I use of this to get it burgundy?

Asked by: Mary2294
I have this product because I am a platinum blonde...I use 40 to lighten... if you're trying to lighten the black so the burgandy will take you might want to do it in two stages. It also depends on the texture, the length, and the strength of your hair and scalp. 40 is strong...please read the instructions for the product you are using to make it lighter first... the lift goes through stages also so leaving it on long enough matters but not so long you burn your scalp... then add the dark burgandy... you'll probably have better results.

My hair is a brassy orange as a result of red and has been for over a year. I would like to get rid of the orange completely and go into a lighter color. Would this product work? If so how do I use it and if not what can I use?

Asked by: Kipper17
The developer will only help if you are using a toner as well. Using a higher developer is meant to lighten, but not tone. If you are trying to get rid of the brassiness as well as lighten, I recommend using this at a 30 or 40 with a toner dye such as color wella!

I use med auburn (Garnier Ultra Reds) normally but go burgundy for fall/winter. Decided on purple this year, started with Manic Panic bleach, then med. purple that came out too dark. Will this lift a couple shades and how? Or is there another product?

Asked by: pmariades
This is just the developer, you will also need to purchase bleach to use with it. I wouldn't recommend for what you're looking for, it'll pull the color out and you'll likely end up with some kind of pumpkin orange result. If you're just looking to lighten your color a little, try shampooing with Prell, or other strong clarifying shampoo for a few days with hot water to open the cuticle. Should encourage it to fade a bit.

What is the difference between 10, 20, 30, and 40 developer

Asked by: amberaly
The volume number refers to the strength of the developer. For ex: 10 is the weakest and 40 is the strongest. I mix 10 or 20 with a toner after bleaching my hair. I mix 30 or 40 with bleach powder on my black, asian hair. If you have lighter or finer hair you may only need a 20 volume if mixing with bleach powder. Best thing is to do a strand test. Good luck

Can I just use the developer to lighten my hair without dying my hair

Asked by: Maria178
This by itself will not lighten your hair. You have to use a bleaching powder with the developer to lighten
