Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Bleaching used this during 3 rounds of bleach on my dark 4c natural hair and my hair is intact. I was very careful about the bleach, but i think this definitely helped keep my hair as healthy as possible through all the harsh chemical processes. i've never used Olaplex, but I believe this is probably a good dupe to help prevent excessive damage. I will say thought the bottle with the bond perfector liquid (the first step) contains way too little product for the size of the bottle. You don't need very much, but I think the bottle is not even halfway full. I made a total of around 22 oz of bleach mixture with this using the ratio indicated in the instructions and a 1-to-2 bleach powder to developer mixture

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DUPE FOR OLAPLEX DUPE FOR OLAPLEX- this works when bleaching the hair. I do not notice a difference except the price is substantially less than olaplex.. wow- win win

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Probably a good idea Used this the first time I bleached my hair. Have never used olaplex, dunno if this is a good substitute, but I definitely did not damage my hair much & this might have helped. Bottle is small but the amount inside is even smaller! I was sure i'd been ripped off until i measured it with a scale and it was clear that they just use a big bottle for a tiny amount of goop

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Curly Hair Review!! I bought this after watching a view videos discussing how this was a perfect dupe for Olaplex. I have been bleaching my hair for the past 3 years and this is the first product that I've used that actually made a difference in the lightening products. **As a side note: I am mixed race, with finer, low porosity 3b curly hair. I used both the sealer and the additive along with ion's developer (40 vol) & the pwder lightner. After using I noticed my hair felt SO much stronger than previous bleaching sessions. After following up witht he sealing creme, my hair was soft, detangled, and smelled sooooo good. Will be purchasing whenever I need to update my roots!

I only color my roots (medium brown) every month when the gray regrowth pops up, then have professional foils every 3-4 months ... Can this be used without a color to the fragile ends of hair?

Asked by: Rachael F
Yes.  I even used it on a particularly tangly strand in my toddler’s hair (a lot of tangles means damaged hair, frequently) and a couple of applications repaired it.   For stand alone treatments I dilute it with distilled water 1 to 4.  I use distilled water because I like to not feel pressured to use all the mixture right away, but you can use boiled water too.

I bought this kit and the 1st bottle is half empty. is the step 1 bottle supposed to be half empty ?

Asked by: Lib13254
I just bought this, and yes it is. you get 2 oz of Step 1, and it’s in a pretty big bottle, about a 4 oz bottle, so it should be half empty.

Hi, I've tried Olaplex, Ion, Colorphlex and Angelplex. Now - I don't have a certificate in hair styling, but I do have almost 30 years of color, cuts, perms, as well as pharmtech employment so I do have some knowledge in the field. Angelplex has worked 3/3 times used for a level 3 to 10 lift. The others left my hair feeling like rubber spaghetti. My hair was try to pull moisture from any source it could after the use of the other 3. This was over a two year period that they were used with a level 20 developer. (I know my hair and I didn't need higher, others may) The conditioner of Ion's is great! But the bond builder part (step 1 additive) didn't do anything helpful to my hair when used 2x. I hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your tresses!

What color is it?

Asked by: Bluemoon3025
It doesn’t effect the color you mix it with at all. Part one  is a clear (I think yellowish) liquid, and part two looks like a creamy white conditioner.

Hi! I am going platinum, and I'm going to have to do two rounds of bleach, so: Should I bleach (using step 1) then 2, then repeat both? or should I use step 1 twice and THEN use step 2 afer im done bleaching (so step 2 once)? Thanks!

Asked by: Irisrose555
I would use both steps after each application process 1 time so a total of 1 application for each absolute following each application
