Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Love this product! So much better than powdered lightener! I've used this 3 times now, once on my bestie and twice on myself. I will never go back! Because its a creme, there’s way less fear of it drying out by the time you've finished applying it. It also takes a little longer to process, so I don't feel as rushed to get it on my head. One time, I used it on permanent black hair dye that i had in my bangs that my hairdresser couldn't get out and it took it the rest of the way and made it light enough for pink and orange fashion dye. I also love how even it lightens. I never feel like one side of my head is lighter than the other. Definitely give it a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best lighter you'll ever buy Absolutely love love love this lightener! I've been doing my hair blond on and off for the last 10 or so years, and every time I've lightened it it wasn't the level I was hoping for, or it was extremely brassy. My hair would also get very dry and brittle where I'd have top take a good 2 inches off after or I wouldn't be able to get a brush through it. Then I bought this and it was a game changer!! I honestly can't trace about it enough! I got to the level I wanted without completely killing my hair, and it was super soft after washing this out. I will never in a million years use anything other them this to lighten my hair!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well Worked well on most of my hair, but didn't lighten it all to the same level. Not sure why.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Worked great with the sensitive scalp developer. I got more lift that expected on my hair so I only had to do one application. This was recommended by one of my friends that recently graduated cosmetology school. Perfect for a diy lightening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! It works great! I does lift about 8 levels. It doesn’t damage the hair like other brands I’ve used on 4c hair.

My hair is naturally a med brown/ red. I've been dying it a for years, especially now that I'm greying more. I want to go a lighter copper. I've tried using lighter dye color and it seems to still go really dark. Will this work to lighten me up first?

Asked by: Tamjpjb1
If you box color your hair at home this will probably turn your hair orange(it did me) and damage it badly( turned mine to straw). Best option is to go to a pro. This works great on virgin hair though. Hope this helps a little.

How is this product meant to be used

This is a bleach, use as you would use a powdered bleach , just no mixing. I loved this product it did a great job with very little damage to my hair.

I usually color my hair in deeper reds (I’m naturally a dark brown) I want to to go to a vibrant red this time, but I’ve read where I need to lighten my hair first. Is this the right stuff for me? I plan to lighten and then permanently color my hair!

If you were to use this, you would also need a developer. I personally found this very harsh and damaging when I used it. (It was with 20developer and a 1:2 ratio) You also don't want to go all the way to a pale blond as red pigments need something to stick to in your hair.

I have bark brown/black hair (Virgin) I recently cut it to shoulder length. I brought this lightner and 20 Developer. I want to lighten( full head)as much as possible to go a teal or emerald green all over. Do you think it will work?

Asked by: Nina Biina
Yes use small sections start from the bottom. You may have to do it twice. ion cream lightener is much more gentle than others I've tried.

I have natural light blonde hair that I have been coloring for years. Right now the length is about cool medium blonde with roots coming in. Can I use this to go to a cool light blonde all over? How?

Asked by: melis3227
This product is used to go to "basic white" hair prior to coloring.

Does this product actually have bleach in it, or is it an alternative? I am allergic to bleach so I have been unable to lighten my hair in the past, but it sounds to me like this could be an alternative.

Asked by: lilbitlow
Yes, it’s bleach but in cream. If you’re allergic, you shouldn’t use it!

I have about 3 inches of white roots (love it!!!) have dyed my hair dark brown for years; never seen my gray roots so long; will this product help me match my roots? white highlights/lowlights on top to mixed with bottom brown ?

Hi. I highly recommend So Blur by Matrix. It lifts the dark and like magic blurs the dark color with the light color. Here's the YT video: jy8W6P3pcbk

Can I use this to lighten colored hair?

Asked by: Terrikrolczyk
Yes, however there's many factors to take into account. If your hair is colored black or brown it will probably turn orange the first time you use this. It's a process, do your research and never ever bleach your hair if you think it's brittle or damaged!
