Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best lightener with no damage Works for me! Not much product though and I only do my roots, but I like this more than any other lightener at Sally's!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite lightner I use wether I'm going from dark brown to blonde or trying to get semi permanent dye out. Works quickly, not as drying as other lightners.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn’t work well for me I usually use the Ion Bright White creme lightener but they are always out of stock at my local Sally’s. So I tried this instead to touch up my roots. It only lightened my roots to a golden blonde. So I will have to go over it again which sucks. I usually get it in one shot with other lighteners. I won’t repurchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! This stuff doesn't mess around! I have very dark hair that has been dyed numerous times. I've used powdered bleach, I've done bleach soap caps, etc. When I saw this at the store, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Before I applied, I coated my hair with coconut oil. I believe I used a 30 vol developer. Within 15 minutes on my strand test, I was amazed at the lift! Its formulated like a normal hair color, so it's thicker and easier to control. This stuff works!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product It’s true, doesn’t damage your hair that much and has a “healthy” feel afterwards. Does the same job as regular bleach. Does it lift 8 levels? Haha, NO. If you’re going for platinum you have to process your hair at least twice, given that I am medium ash brown natural. Over all great product that I’ll continue to use. DO NOT forget to mix it with developer, which is probably why the other reviews were so negative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for free-painting or fixing patchiness! I needed a cream based bleach to handle going silver and maintain roots since powder bleach is a mess for that due to it swelling and causing unintentional overlap/bleeding. Being that this was the only one in stock at the time, I took a chance and was rewarded with really great results. Paired with a 20 volume bleach it lifted me at least 3 levels within only about 5 minutes, and I got my hair from a level 7 to an 11 within about 45 minutes. I wasn't thrilled with the $15 price tag, but being that it was BOGO, and the results I got, it was definitely worth the money. Damage was as to be expected with any bleach, but the conditioning agents added to this definitely helped with rinsing it out a lot easier than powder bleach typically is for me so props for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved My Super Long Hair! A sales rep recommended this to lighten my dark blonde/copper brown ends since the top of my fine hair is previously lightened to pale blonde (from my natural dark colour). I wanted the ends to match the top part of my hair, while keeping the past-tailbone length of my hair safe from breaking. I mixed the Creme Lightener with 20 volume developer by Wella, left it on my ends for 20 minutes, watching the colour lift, and then washed it out, then toned it with Wella T18. There was not much breakage at all, only a few individual strands, and my five year old hair ends are still below my tailbone! The product does tend to leave hair a bit dry, which can be remedied with pure organic coconut oil. I also do NOT recommend brushing it while wet, nor blow drying on hot, because the damage that those create can be disastrous. Try to let it air dry as much as possible, don’t detangle until it is bone-dry (preferably with a seamless comb), and you will keep more of your hair. It might be an inconvenience to some, but you will have to end up choosing between keeping length/volume, or the vanity of attempting to have the look of a blown-out style at the expense of your hair health, which is exactly why I avoid “professional” blow-dries (which tear away your damp hair with the brush and burn it with the hot dryer).

How can I thin out this bleach as it becomes too thick to manage?

Asked by: Shellymichele
Do you mix it with developer? I put equal parts developer to thin it out.

I dyed my hair purple a few months ago but it's fading out weirdly and I want to go as close to white as I can. Is there any difference in time for that? I'm a broke college student so I can't go to a salon.

Asked by: Todoloco
I don't have any experience with purple but did go from a dark brown to white. Always best to do a strand test. Cut a a very small but close to 2" long section of the darkest color where it won't show and tie it together with string.. Mix a teaspoon each of cream lightener with 40 volume an apply part of it to the test. hair. After 30 minutes wipe off the mix and check the color. If not, the desired color, reapply and continue the timing up to 1 hour. If this still doesn't give the color you want after an hour, you will have to repeat the process. Buy a purple shampoo for blondes and wash and condition your hair with that the day after the first process. Condition you hair for several days (a week is preferred) and then repeat the lightening process. This is recommended because if you leave the lightener on for more than an hour at a time, you can do some real damage to your hair in terms of breakage and split ends. Good luck! Note: Once you have the color you want, continue to use the purple shampoo once per week as it will control any brassiness or yellow especially at the roots. It will also blend the pure white and lighten any yellow streaks if you didn't apply the creme lightener mix evenly. It also makes white look very shiny and natural.

will this take the yellow out of white hair

Asked by: judy judy judy
NO! I use this product to lighten a dark blond and if I don't leave it on long enough (min 30 minutes) my blond has that yellow/orange tint, Buy a "purple" shampoo or conditioner ... any place sells it. Ask anyone and they'll know what to recommend. Hope that helps.

I have very fine light brown hair that I want to highlight only a few strands around my face. I wish to use 1/4 of the tube or less. at a time every 4 months ? Will it keep better than bottled developer? They have air in the bottle.

Asked by: barbie123
I only use part of the tube and have no problems using it that way.

I had dark blue hair. I bleached with a powder and it just lighten a bit but now I have the blue, some blond, my dark brown roots and a yellow/orange blond because some of the bleach got onto my virgin roots :( will this product even everything out?

Asked by: Natalialove
Yes, it's a blue creme bleach and when you mix it with 30 developer leave it on no more than 50 minutes, comb it through to the ends cover with a cap while processing then rinse shampoo and then tone your hair color after bleaching.

There are 2 different Age Beautiful creme hair lighteners. One is much lower price than the other. The higher price one has a number 3 on the tube... the other does not....

Asked by: Teddy657
One is larger then the other. I think one is 2 oz and the other is 3 oz.
