Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blue Tinge on the Shaft Never have I had this problem before! I used the blue Kaleidocolors all the time but this week I did a full foil using the blue (kc powder) and it left a blue tone on the hair! What is up with this? I've been using this product for over 10 years and always loved it but now I am afraid to use it again. BEWARE WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT! I THINK CLAIROL MUST HAVE CHANGED THE FORMULA AND GOT IT WRONG! Don't fix it if it is not broken.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Either it was this or the developer that it didn’t work well with, it barely lightened the hair on my head and the extensions!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula SUCKS!! I'm pink and blue headed! I've colored my hair myself for 30 years! Ive used this product for about 17 years...NEVER have I ever turned pink! Desperation set in!!! I only had a few scoops of a pure bleach to get out the pink on the front. I put more of this product on the back half, trying to take the pink out! The front bleach worked but the back is now blue! I will never use this new formula again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good blue bleach powder My natural hair is dark dark brown. This bleach powder + 40 vol peroxide is step 1 in getting to the light blonde that I love!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not happy This does not lighten like I would have liked it to, it also in my experience left a blue tint to the hair! I’m not a fan of this brand at all!!

Do i need heat to activate?

Asked by: 58patchouli
It works better with heat. If you are only bringing hair up a level or maybe 2 you can probably bring it up without heat, or use a stronger level of peroxide. But if you are trying to bring hair up more than 2 levels, you will definitely need heat. Or you will be stuck in an orange or brassy level

I have dark brown hair and I just got this along with 20 volume developer I’m trying to go blonde (going to be dying my hair with Arctic Fox’s Aquamarine) Will I be able to use this to get to a light enough color or do I need to get a different item?

Asked by: koopaflower
not going to get light enough- this gives beautiful  low light effects to dark hair

How many heads does 8 oz do.

Asked by: Zackswife
It depends on your needs; if you’re dying the whole head of hair medium length or longer, you may only get two to three uses out of it. I have extremely dark brown hair, I bleach my roots only every month and a half, and one 8 oz container lasts me most of the year. Hope this helps! Don’t forget a gentle activator!

Is this used for bleaching?

Asked by: HazeyGRL
I use it for blond highlights my hair is normally light brown, & it definitly turns my hair bleach blond, but not to sure about using it on your whole head. They have regular hair dye if thats what your looking to do.awesome product though been using it for years.

Can I use this on recently bleached hair?

Asked by: Anthony2
This formula is specifically for dark hair like your roots. Find one that's an all over bleach like Quick Blue.

I have pretty dark brown hair what’s the best bleach and developer

Asked by: Tianna j
I would recommend BW/2 and if you want to go blonde get a toner or a blonde hair dye to put on after you use the bleach. If you don't know how to tone hair then go to YouTube cause it's best to do it in wet hair while watching it closely so your hair doesn't turn purple. The blue and purple lightener are for highlights and lighter hair.

I have dark brown hair. What is the Volume No. I need to mix with the blue and the ratio??

Asked by: Amy forgot
It depends on the color you are trying to achieve, and this only lifts up to five levels. So of you are a level 1,2, or 3 you will only get to a level 5,6 or 7 and even though it is pretoned you will likely have to use a matching level of hairdye or toner on top to get a desired color. It's great for highlights though. We used to use this in the salon got highlighting foils but I would get more of a broader lift lightener if you want to do your entire head blonde.
