Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not get!! I got the chroma red in garnet to freshen my fading red/burgundy color, big mistake it made my hair almost black! I’m so upset especially because I used 2 tubes of this! I have used L’Oreal magenta before so I thought this would be as vibrant as that but no. I’m so unhappy with the results and feel like I just wasted my money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chroma cherry It’s definitely a cherry red, i more on the red than maroon side for sure. Very pleased with the pigmentations. Of course it washes off fast just like any other red color, depending on the individual care provided to the hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quite happy! Color mixed and applied easily, the color came out beautifully. It was a tiny bit darker but not enough for me to be upset. My hair was already dyed red with more orange undertones, I like this so much better and I used a 30 developer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RED that actually stays I used the Garnet and Cherry to mix and got a beautiful black cherry colour that has stayed after many repeated washings. After trying multiple products over the years I am so pleased with this.If you are hesitant to try this line do it! Lasted Way longer than other L'Oreal professional line products that I have purchased.

How does this cover dark brown colored hair? I am just trying to decide which shade to purchase or if I should mix two colors

Asked by: crystal37
I use the Ruby shade and at least for me, Chroma has been the only one to help me go from dark brown to instant red. I love it!

Can you use another brand of developer with this or do you have to use the suggested Oreor developer?

Asked by: jla122588
Any brand of developer will work. I’ve used a couple different developers with chroma and they all worked.

What developer strength should I use hair that is presently dyed auburn?  I’d like to get more of the true redhead look.  Natural color is med brown.  Hair is very fine and in good condition.

I would use the 25 developer.

Will this go over permanent blue dye, I've been fading the blue, so now most of my hair is green, blue, and blonde?

Asked by: kaywaterbear
I’m not sure you could possibly strip it the rest of the way out. The most it would do is be more purpley red. i mix this red with a little red brown to give me a richer auburn.  I love this color I’m always getting compliments so I guess it fits me.

Can anyone describe the this color red I'm looking for a light Red not Orange not strawberry just Red? In advance thank you very much

Asked by: Beautyful
My hair was somewhat prelightened except for me roots. (I'm naturally dark brown) and it turned out very red! I wanted just a red as well and not some off color. And that's how it came out was a true red. I loved it!

Will this work on dyed black hair?

Asked by: Jrs82000
Try the HiColor Hilights for dark hair by L'Oreal. I love the Magenta. It can lift really dark hair. I used it the other day on a client that had colored her own hair multiple times, it was dark brown to black on mid lengths to ends. I used 30 volume and 40 volume and got excellent results.

Which color is best to get a dark red. That may only show up when you’re in the sun? I’ve tried Sangria, Ruby, Cheyenne. But looking to go the darkest red from this collection.

Asked by: Nebbs016
Most color companies use a level chart that is fairly widely used, with 1 being the darkest and 10 being the lightest level. That said, from this line the darkest would be cherry (lvl 3) or garnet (lvl 4). I'm a fan of the garnet, myself, and sangria. Happy coloring!
