  • Mix Ratio: 1 part haircolor, 2 parts developer. Lighter than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 15 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes or until color is even. Darker than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 30 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes if additional coverage is needed.

Tips for achieving optimum coverage on gray hair:

    1. Select a shade level 8 or darker for best coverage; Lighter shades will create a translucent effect.

    2. Shades from Natural or Gold Family will produce a more natural result with optimum coverage.

    3. Mix with 20 Volume Well Color Charm Developer

    4. Apply generously starting at the area with highest percentage of gray or most resistant.

    5. Process for 30 minute, extend to 45 minutes if needed.

    6. For better coverage on hair that is more than 50% gray, use a fashion shade from the Red Family and mix with equal parts of Wella Color Charm Natural or Gold shade at the same level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great grey coverage I have many clients with 50% or more with grey to be covered. because of the amount of ammonium in Wella colors the grey is always covered and last longer than other brands. On the other hand I have clients with little to no grey that just want a color change and I use a lower ammonium content color for those clients.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back my old 911! I have used the 911 for years and loved it. Then it changed to 9N, still good. My most recent purchase was of 9NN. There were no other options in the 9 series so I assumed (silly me) that this was again a label change, not a product change. Product looked different coming out of the bottle and I now have light orange hair! Yuck!

I want to color my hair white or silver. My hair is turning silver, but still has alot of brownish red hair. What color should I die it?

Asked by: Annie2017
Always remember color does not lift or remove color in hair. Either cut or bleach out the color. Then tone with a ice or silver toner. Best to go to a professional. If you bleach naturally white or silver hair, it can turn yellow.. leave your hair to a professional.

I have medium brown hair with some blonde highlights. I'm wanting to get rid of the highlights and just do all one color, preferably medium/dark brown. What is the best option for what I'm looking for? What all will I need to do it?

Asked by: JPickell
I would use either a neutral or brown filler to help the highlighted portions of your hair accept the then applied all over brown color.

How can I prevent red tones from my hair? I use Wella Colorcharm 8N/811 light blond

Asked by: Tevisone
You can mix 8n with 8a 50/50 to cut down on red tones. You need the "n" to cover grays. If you dont have gray hair, you can use 8a by itself.
