Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I have short hair and one box would have worked. I bought two. I used the 30 developer and I loved the color.. It was a little too bold for me after the first wash, but after my second wash, the color was where I wanted it to be.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst product ever!!!! Don’t waste your money and time on this. I have light blonde hair with medium blonde roots with greys. Bought his thinking of replacing the bleach route and it was a huge mistake. All it did was accentuate the greys and turning them grayish/purple. Horrible!! I knew it wasn’t working after 15 mins of mirror check and zero change! With bleach you can see it working in minutes. Besides that the formula is very strong in odor, no different than bleach. It was also hurting and burning my scalp, so it isn’t any gentler. So you may as well use bleach at least you’ll get desired results. Wish I could give it 0 stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst hair color I've ever used I've been coloring my hair for 30 years - from platinum to copper. I've used the Wella and AgeBeautiful products. Hicolor was recommended to me by store employee. It did nothing! I used with 30 developer. What a waste

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It’s not great I used it with a 30 volume developer on unprocessed hair and it didn’t lift very much. Took her from black to light brown.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from highly not recommended I do not recommend this at all. I brought the “Ash Blonde” and I have a medium hair color. I kept the dye in for longer than the time said because it appeared to be doing nothing. Once I rinsed it out and blow dried it, no blonde effect whatsoever. Very disappointed. I spent 3 hours wasted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I bought the ash blonde .. it says for dark hair right on the front. I talked to a lady that worked there and she said you won’t need developer & you won’t need to bleach it before dying. i am literally irritated that she gave all this advice when she knew nothing about what she was talking about. i wouldn’t recommend because it says its hair dye but it smells like bleach , looks like bleach & it burns in your hair like bleach. It did absolutely nothing to my hair but make it dark brown.

Can I use a toner after? It lifted my hair to a sandstone blonde butt I need to get some of the brassiness.

Asked by: Steph279
Yes you can use a toner. I didn’t cover my white hair though and turned my black roots to orangy tone when I used it without a toner.

I have had dyed black hair for over a year im pretty sure it faded to dark brown will this work with a 40 developer to get my hair light enough to color nermaid blue.

Asked by: Steph576
It will turn your hair a orange color so the blue may not show up at all. You need to use color erase product 1st to strip the hair of its black/brown artificial color and see how light you can get it. Stripping the hair can damage it so use precaution and follow with a deep conditioner!!!!

Is this product good to use if you are trying to dye your hair other bright colors without the harmful effects of bleach? (e.g. dying it using this blonde, and then dying your hair blue )

Asked by: killakay0723
Not a good idea.  This doesn’t strip your hair like bleaching so bright colours won’t be vibrant.

Does it lift previously colored hair?

Asked by: Bquirky2
No it really didn't lift the color? It more or less toned it into that ashy blond but the color didn't stay very long either. It might work for colors closer to lighter blonds, but I didn't get much lift out of it.

I used this and was wondering if I applied a color remover, would the dye come out?

Asked by: Elc199523
It is a permanent color so maybe not especially if you dyed it on virgin hair. If you dyed it a natural color like blonde, no. But red maybe I’ll only lighten it

Depending on your natural level your not going to see blonde results unless your naturally a level 7 or higher
