Rated 5 out of 5 by from If hair previously does use color oops first! My hair was dyed black I have never bleached, found color oops which takes dye out wo t work on natural hair as it shri is dye molecules,it doesnt damage hair & can use twice if need be to get dye completely out,but use a hair mask after using then add some coconut oil before dying and use the lightest ash high lift in this dye as it takes out the gold or slight yellow the stripping may leave but nothing like bleach.Bleach is horrible on hair leaves it splotchy orange but after doing this I always get compliments and asked where I went. You can also use brass banisher, color pops just made brass remover also, or go Sally's depending what you want to get a toner, works so good, cheap & can do same day. Love loreal excellence, always does great, for blondes you must leave on an hour no matter what box says, color too,I also usually do lengths first with blonde as to not get lighter roots, plus roots dye faster, with darks I like roots darker anyway. If that happens I usually go get a dark or medium ash blond to apply to roots.

I used to use L’Oréal Preference all the time but they dropped the two colors I mixed to get my perfect shade. This line has the colors I want. Would this creme work to apply from a squeeze bottle. I color my own hair and don’t think I can brush it on.

Asked by: Blondie KC
Probably not unless you stirred it exceeding well and cut a larger slice out of the tip. It has a tendency to stay lumpy and, to be honest, I did not find the results as good as the L’Oréal Preference. The applied colors looked drabber than the Preference. I was not very happy with it and went back to Preference.

L’Oréal gray coverage does not say how long to keep the dye in your hair?

Asked by: Joejoegirl
It has stated 35 minutes in the past. My stylist advised that I can leave it on for 45 minutes for stubborn grey. I use the blonde neutral tones and this time works for me. I’ve done it for years!

As a kid I had strawberry blonde hair, more strawberry. As I've gotten older, it's more blond. I'm considering coloring it using this product, the medium coppery red but I'm not sure how it will look. I'm very fair skinned and blue eyes and of course,

your best bet is to try a sample spot of your hair, pick an area underneath top layer. For example put up some hair in a clip, then color a strip under this clip. when you are done, check it out in the sun, or light and see if you like it. I found a med. copper red is darker than I thought. hope this is helpful

I have medium brown hair and want to be more of an 8.1, I used the 8.1 with 20vol and it lifted the very dark brown to a medium brown but I still would like for it to be closer to the 8.1 so would using 30vol with it get more of a lift?

I’m a beauty club member who uses L’Oreal Excellence 8.3 hair color.  It is no longer offered in your stores.  If I order online do I also need to order the Oreor?

Asked by: Casey2018
Please, Please be very careful if you read my review regarding the tube type of dye the color it's not the same as the bottled 8.3 golden blond which I used for decades..I purchased online what I thought was my normal loreal product only concerned with the # 8.3 and received the tubes. I thought it would be ok and used as directed but my hair color was significantly different with unwanted darker roots and reddish highlights. If you purchase this tube type dye test your hair first to insure color quality as each person's hair type does make a difference except if you've been using a particular product # for years you should expect the same results every time but this tube version is definitely different.

Is the 9X.13 the same as the Preference 9BB

Asked by: Suzy1415
I am unable to answer that question due to a lack of education.  But....you may find the answer on YouTube.  I remember seeing a video on how hair colors are labeled.

What kind of developer do I need to use if I am getting the 9x.1 extra light ash blonde?

Asked by: Becca9299
That really depends on what you're trying to achieve . Difference between 20 and 30 is the amount of lift . Granted in most cases 20 has better results for anyone covering grays
