Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned My Daughters Hair Neon Teal Blue I have colored hair for years and followed the instructions perfectly. she did not have previously treated hair and it turned her NEON teal blue. we had to go back to a different sallys where they had the Ion semi perm blacket black to cover it. as the ion faded the blue did not budge. after MULTIPLE tries with baking soda and 10 developer; we had to use a lightener twice to get it all the way out

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Green with envy I love love love this dye! I have only used kowabunga so far but the color is so vibrant and rich! Absolutely gorgeous. I have had so many compliments. The color itself is almost so perfect that I have been asked if I was wearing a wig and if people can touch my hair. The only other dye I have found to be in the same universe as this is manic panic. I have used just about every other one under the sun, including Arctic fox which smelled heavenly but had no staying power and faded way too quickly for the price. I will make a note that I only use shades of green so I can't speak for other tones. As for those complaining about staining and bleeding...this green has done none of the above for me. Very minor transfer to a towel when hair is wet. Did not stain my scalp, skin, cuticles, tub, sink, floor or pillowcase. (I have very long hair so I can get a little sloppyXD) With complaints about not washing out, it IS semi permanent. If you have ever dyed your hair any shade of red, crazy red or average drug store box dye, it can also be a nuisance to remove at times. If you are not ready to commit to a lifestyle of wild hair then I suggest you try hair paint, spray, or chalk before making a bold step. Trying to bleach out some eccentric colors can in fact actually set it deeper into your hair. I suggest consulting your professional before attempting to over process your hair or to make sure this is a journey you should take.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vibrant color, and UV reactive! I've been bouncing around between brands looking for colors that last and are vibrant for more than a couple of washes, and so far I'm very happy with this one! I dyed my hair three weeks ago with the green Kowabunga color and so far it's still totally vibrant and hasn't faded that much at all. It's also by far the first brand I've tried that didn't have a horrible artificial scent that resembles Kool-Aid or something. This smelled like citrus and was not overwhelming at all. Plus, as an added bonus I wasn't expecting, it is UV reactive and glows under a blacklight!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fades within a week We typically use ion hair color but my daughter liked the orange in this brand better so we tried it. Don’t waste your money it started fading within the first week. Even with color safe shampoo and conditioning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t come out even after two months Got this and dyed all my hair blue and purple and teal, it’s was great while it lasted had it for over two months. But the product does not come out of your hair.. first picture is first done, second picture is two months later and one bleach session, third picture it’s what happened when you try to put even a red town dye over it, it still went green. last picture is after 5 hours at a salon with them trying absolutely everything to get it out or Color. It won’t take Color it won’t bleach out it won’t do anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Dye With A Punny Name I love trying out new hair dye brands, so buying this was right up my street. Pros: Nice, bright color. Applies evenly, especially with the bowl-and-brush method. Rinses out easily. Easy to remove from skin with isopropyl alcohol. Suitable for vegans. Cons: Essential oil scent is very strong. Formula is slightly plasticky in texture. All in all, I enjoyed this dye and will try more colors in the brand.

Im looking to get a bright lavender color, What shades would you recommend I mix to get that?

Asked by: RadRach86
Honestly I'd use a different brand. This brands purple is almost navy blue. You could try a diluter and a very drops of their pink.

Does color bleed when washed? Does it stain the tub or your hands when u wash your hair? Like a mess. Does color come out of towels, pillows when washed? And when you apply it does the color come off your skin when rinsing product out? I dye my hair a lo

Asked by: atxqueenb
THIS DYE WILL BLEED FOR MONTHS. Mine stills bleeds. When I sleep, when I shower, when I go swimming. Everything I own is now stained blue and it won’t bleach out of my hair.

Will the dye work on hair that has never been dyed or bleached? I want to know what dye would be best for my hair since I have never done anything to it. (Btw I have light brown hair)

Asked by: Ok961244
For all hair types your hair will need to be bleached before applying the dye. Good dye young sells a bleach kit as well. I did my daughters tips and it came out so vibrant. Her hair was never dyed and is brown, but we did bleach it first.

I just lightened my hair beneathe my bangs and colored it with Splat Blue Indigo, I want it to be more vibrant and can't wait to try GDY in Blue Ruin. Do I have to rebleach again or can I color over the present color?

Asked by: Missylove
I would suggest trying to fade the previous color out as much as you can before applying Good Dye Young in order to get the most vibrant results. But no, you shouldn't have to re-bleach again unless you want to ensure vibrancy! xx dye happy, Becca from Good Dye Young

I'm looking for a warm based purple, almost like a dark magenta. Would I be able to make one if I mixed ex-girl with some Blue Ruin? And would it show up well on caramel highlights?

Asked by: nick like nickname
My favorite formula for magenta is Ex Girl, Rock Lobster, and a very small drop of Blue Ruin! xx dye happy, Becca from Good Dye Young

How long does it last

Asked by: Hannah2579
This line does last a good bit longer than some other semipermanents that i have used (I'd say around 4 weeks without needing a touch up), but at-home maintenance is also key - make sure to use cold water and color-safe/sulfate free shampoo. Also, any summer activities like pool time or beach trips, it would be best to avoid getting the hair wet as chlorine and salt water can strip the color quickly!

do you need to bleach or can you dye straight onto unbleached hair? i'm looking for a more diluted, dark color and have dirty blonde hair.

Asked by: spicyjor
You can do a strand test to see how it would look, but you will get best results if you bleach first. If you want it darker it is best to mix with a darker color until you get desired color. If you try to apply on dirty blonde hair I think you will get a muddy greenish look (for the blue anyway)

I’m looking for a really good bright and vibrant purple! Is this the PPL EATER good? I’ll take any opinions, doesn’t matter what brand it is just want some bright purple.

Asked by: andrea547
This shade comes out more blue than purple. You should try Artic Fox's purple.
