Rated 5 out of 5 by from It gets the red out I have tried several other brands of toner and none of them have been able to get the red out of my hair. I have naturally titian hair, so the red is a fighter. I have had so many "well, thank god I look good in orange" moments in my life I stopped counting roughly 20 yeas ago. I used the T18 along with the 050 cooling violet after lightening my hair and boom! No more red, it drop kicked the red right out and let the 050 bring it to the lovely silver I was going for. Am never going back to another toner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Picked the wrong toner I got a balayage and it was getting brassy but bought the wrong toner. It worked great and made my hair platinum in some of the blond but I needed a more beige toner. Easy to use, but I found it damaging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product U was spending $140 and $160 at the Salon, and my hair was really dry and after because of the stong bleach. They never used anything to protect my skin or hair mask after bleach. I had to pay 20$ or 30$ extra, and never recommended something that they don't sale to you at the salon. I got tired of spending 180$ every 3 months only to do my roots. So try an Loreal bleach blonde at my routs and it Fail it turn my hair orange. I went at Sally Beauty salon and they recommend "Kaleidocolors Violet" to bleach and toner "Wella T18". I used 20 developer with both products. I was very satisfied.I washed my hair with purple shampoo, Also used mask treatment and coconat oil. My hair are silver like never before and looked healthy without styling. Very happy from Sally and this products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a necessity for blondes! I have fought with brassiness /yellowish tones in my light blonde hair for years until I found this toner. OMG what a total game changer! I use it every 2 months or so with clairol pure white 20v developer, (you use twice as much developer than toner so 1 bottle lasts a few uses!) and use purple conditioner in between treatments. My hair is a nice light blonde - not orange or yellow anymore!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It wasn't what I expected I didn't like the outcome of the way it came out afterwards. So I decided to dye my hair back to black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, taupe-y blonde! I've been several times to my closest Sally Beauty and each time they are out of this, although I bought it there twice several months ago - kind of irritating, but ordering it online was ok and it's nice to have it again. The lady at Sally Beauty locally talked me into buying the T18 and it make my hair a bluish tint - not at all what I was looking for. I'm 64 and don't especially want my hair to look like blueberry or bubblegum. I used 30 vol. toner instead of the recommended 20, after reading someone else's recommendation, and I'm glad I did. It looked kind of blue while it was processing (I left it on a full 40 minutes), but I just sucked it up and figured if it turned out blue, I'd just live with it until I could bleach it lighter again. Gratefully, it turned out a lightly-blue blonde, with the blue washing out in the next two days. I have oily hair and usually wash every day. Now it's a really pretty pale ashy blonde, very cool neutral tone like taupe. I really like it and when my roots grow out, I just use an ultra-light ash blonde haircolor - once again, using the 30 vol. instead of the 20 vol to mix the haircolor. I just note how much of the 20 vol is in the packaged bottle, dump it out into the trash, then replace with the same amount of 30 vol. It makes my hair a sort of banana yellow in the root area, which is covered the next time I use the T14 toner. Meanwhile, it looks just fine - right in style. Sorry no photo - I don't have or want a "smart" phone! Good luck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good toner I did a full bleach because I wanted to go platinum, well this toner it’s amazing, I had a lot of orange due to the bleach and this toner helped cancelling out all that oranginess of my hair with one use, what I did is that I used the 30 volume developer o ion in a 1(toner bottle) to 2 (developer of the same refilled bottle from toner)ratio. I left it for 40 min

I bleached my hair and had red dye underneath now I have pinkish oranagw where that dye was almost looka like highlights. Do I bleach again or tone? I plan to tons at the end which should I use?

Asked by: Danielle88
I'm not sure what you should do because really you should have removed the red dye prior to bleaching with a hair color remover. I wouldn't recommend bleaching again though because you could end up really damaging your hair.

If I have very pale blonde hair and I bought wella T28 to tone with just to freshen my hair up some. A little change. Any suggestions on getting the most beautiful natural blonde hair color while toning? Tips? Thanks

Asked by: Juldav2018
I do know the T14 will give it a silver white look so I’d go with something more on the lightest blonde side. I always put coconut oil in my hair for about 4 hours before doing my hair then I leave it in while I touch it up.

How do you use this ? Like do I need to buy anything else with this product or I just buy this and use it by itself ?

Asked by: Sydneyd135
Mix 1 part Wella Color Charm toning color with 2 parts 20 volume Wella Color Charm developer. Apply to towel dried hair then, develop for up to 30 minutes. Check frequently to see if desired results are achieved. You can customize the toner formula by intermixing shades.

I had natural medium to dark brown hair and I dyed my hair with box dye with John Freida blonde dye and my hair came out light orange at the roots like a strawberry blonde color and I hate it. Do I use toners or bleach again or go back to brown?

Asked by: DeniseL89
You need to see a professional colorist.

I colored my roots then when I put my toner on it stripped my color off the roots..... what’s the best way of doing your toner

Asked by: Brenda61
I use the toner mixed with the 20% creme, put it on my roots and leave it for 10 minutes. Without rinsing, I add the rest of the mix on my entire head of hair for another 5 min. After that I take a shower, shampoo it out, and use a creme rinse to finish. Hope this helps.

I have lightened hair (very pale blonde) with my natural gray roots. While letting my hair grow out what can I use to color the blonde part to a gray to match my roots?

Asked by: JoLenMad
I'd suggest one of the "permanent" ION Brilliance Colors (blue, pink, purple, gray) if you want all-over gray that doesn't look "aged", but on trend. They're very affordable at Sally (I bought 2 recently) and they don't leave additional damage (since you've already "blonded" it first). BUT make sure the blonde you want to cover is not gold/orange. If so, add a 1x time use packet of "red gold corrector" to your grey dye just to be sure you get those undertones silvery, too.

If I am transitioning to my natural color and want to remove the brassiness of my old highlights, can I use a toner? I’ve used purple shampoos and conditioners but hasn’t really helped much.

Asked by: RaginCajun
Yes, absolutely toner is your best bet.  If you’re looking to tone down orange brassiness, I’d go with a blue base like T14, T28, or T10.  If it’s more on the yellow side, you’d want a more violet base like T18.

My hair is grey but in the back it has a line of orange. I hate it, I dont know what to do! Should I get the T18 by wella?

Asked by: Melisa23
7A & 7AA in Color Charm will cancel out orange. T-18 only will cancel out yellow.
