  • Pre-lighten the hair to desired level before applying toner. Mix 1 part Wella Color Charm toning color with 2 parts 20 volume Wella Color Charm developer. Apply to towel dried hair then, develop for up to 30 minutes. Check frequently to see if desired results are achieved.
  • You can customize the toner formula by intermixing shades. For example, if you want a shade that is in between an ash tone and a warm tone, try mixing equal parts of T-18 and T-14 with equal parts of T-11 or T-35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost there This works good but not entirely. Takes the orange out, gives a pretty shade. I'm forever striving to get to Platinum :(

Can I use this with 40 volume?

Asked by: Kaiakatie
40 would be way too harsh and turn your hair grey. I would definitely stick with 20 like the directions say. Good luck!

I highlighted my light brown w/red tone colored hair to a honey blonde. It's a nice color but a little brassy. Should I tone it? If so, what color toner should I use to tone down the brassiness? I don't want platinum hair but more med or dark blonde

Asked by: tvstm2020
The Wella toners usually only work if you are a level 9 to 10,if you are a level 9 brassy, you could try T35 wella toner with a 10 volume developer! toners will not lighten your hair, just change the tone and take some of the brassiness out Or you could get a level 8NA demi permanent color to give you a nice pretty beige blonde, hope that helps!

Will this take the yellow out of my hair? I want a blonde

Asked by: Lisanels
To take the yellow out, use an Ash toner, not a beige. I add a packet of red gold corrector when I mix it and use a 30 or 40 developer. I use the T14 or T18, developer and red gold corrector mixed up and applied heavily, then let it sit 15 to 20 minutes. I’m not a hairdresser but I’ve been coloring my hair platinum blonde for years. If you have areas that over tone and take on a slightly purple or blue hue, wash your still wet hair with head and Shoulders, let it sit 10 minutes in your hair, then use a keratin conditioner pack, leave in 30 minutes and rinse and style. My hair comes out a nice white blonde. I forgot to say I use quick blue bleach with a 40 developer first. Hope it turns out great! Use head and shoulders and a purple shampoo to keep brassiness out, and don’t over wash your hair so it won’t be so dry.. have fun!

Dyed my hair blond it is too yellow. I would like a platinum even possibly a little purple what color do you suggest to get rid of the yellow

Asked by: Cindy 5561
This is awesome toner to counter "the yellow". For my self, I like more of a white blonde, so for me it's a on-off with the toner, the longer it is left on, lavender to ash hues come through.....

I died my hair with bleach platinum blonde feria hair dye and need to know what color toner I use for the yellow and orange uneasiness?

Asked by: Carriebrkr
I would use Wella T18 but be careful with your midlengths and ends as they can turn purple if left on for too long. When applying the toner, start wherever you can work and move around the head the quickest. My lengths and ends are a level ten blonde and I applied the toner during the last five minutes of leaving it on. Also, I tried T10 and I personally would avoid this one because it brought out the coppery color I would worked so hard to get rid of and my lengths are this horrible ash almost silvery blonde.
