Same question as above.  Need ones gentle enough for my soft nails. Ones I have labeled 280/320 are okay for shaping but not "extra fine" at all. Have used the (also pink) Tropical Shine ones in 400/600, which ARE x-fine.  Why the difference??

Asked by: Ruby Slippers
The numbers are the grit size, or roughness of the sides. Higher mesh numbers mean the particles are more fine, less rough. So the 400/600 are really fine.

In Tropical Shine's assorted option, it shows Medium as 220/320, and Fine as 400/600. This says the Fine/Extra Fine is 280/320. Do these numbers even mean anything, if the same company uses the same numbers for conflicting descriptions of texture?

My boards are as follows: pink dual grit 001318 280/320 fine/extra fine ... lemon 001315 180 medium ... lime 001314 120 coarse
