INSTRUCTIONS: MANIC PANIC® AMPLIFIED® bleach kit is designed for pre-lightening the hair before using MANIC PANIC® semi-permanent hair colors. Everything you need to lighten your hair is included in this kit. Please follow the instructions carefully. Tish and Snooky strongly recommend doing a strand test prior to application. (Take one strand of hair and follow instructions.)

PREPARATIONS: 1. Wearing the enclosed gloves, open the bleach plastic bag. Avoid inhaling powder. 2. Empty full contents of bleach powder into the provided tub. 3. Gradually add the developer to the bleach powder in the tub. Using the brush, blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Sometimes it is not necessary to use all the contents of the developer. 4. Apply mixture immediately. Do not wait a long time.

APPLICATION: Hair should be dry and unwashed. Using the provided brush, apply the bleach mixture evenly to hair sections you wish to bleach. All strands should be saturated using the brush or gloves to spread the mixture evenly. Cover the hair you do not want to bleach with foil or a highlight cap.

DEVELOPING: Use of enclosed plastic cap is recommended through the developing process. The length of processing time depends on the natural hair color. The chart below indicates approximate timing required to bring natural hair to the pale lemon yellow stage.

Light to Dark Blonde: 20 to 60 Minutes

Light Brown: 20 to 90 Minutes

Medium Brown: 40 to 90 Minutes

Dark Brown: 60 to 90 Minutes.

Check strand every 10 minutes to evaluate lift. To do so, remove plastic cap and wipe away mixture with a damp tissue. If hair has not reached desired level, reapply mixture as before and continue processing. Do not over-bleach. Bleach can process for about two hours if hair is resistant.

REMOVAL: When desired shade is reached, take off the cap and throw away. Shampoo hair thoroughly. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry hair.

Always perform a strand test prior to full application. Do not apply directly to scalp. Check progress every 10 minutes throughout the process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Go-To Kit This kit is so easy to use, and I've repurchased it multiple times. I naturally have thick, dark hair and this works wonders. I've easily gone to platinum without excessive breakage (everyone is different though so please do a strand test) I don't have a great picture but here is me with my freshly bleached hair before I dyed it blue and pink. This is my favorite budget option and I recommend it to my beginner friends all the time

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great brand for color but not for bleaching As an amateur, it worked and taught me what to expect with bleaching. I love this brand for fun colors but I don’t recommend buying them for bleaching. Yes it is convenient because it comes with gloves, a brush, and shower cap but it does not have enough bleach to cover anyone with more than earlength hair. I have a long bob and had to buy two of these. If your hair is very dark, you’ll need so much more. It’s not worth it in that case. Just get a big developer bottle and a big lightening powder tub. Seriously. But look up the brand because their fun semi permanent vegan hair dyes are really wonderful. Just don’t use them to bleach if you care about $$

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thick-ish Black Hair Review Have thick black hair, did the job well. I may have to buy another to make it really blond, but I used other bleaches and I had to use them 3 or 4 times to get the same result that this did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great. Easy. Needed two boxes for one side of my daughters hair. Her hair is long and thick. So if you have a lot of hair and are doing it all, get several. It was easy to use and worked like it should. The hair came out exactly how I wanted it to. We got from a level 6 to a solid level 9 almost 10. Which was what I needed.

Hi, I️ letting my hair go natural and I have about and inch of white. My hair is light brown (dyed) how should I️ g9 about dosing this at home

Asked by: Sandyjim
The Flash Lightening bleach should be applied to dry, unwashed hair using the tint brush provided in our Flash Lightening kits. When applying, make sure to spread the mixture evenly and completely saturate all strands using the brush or gloved fingers. Not saturating the hair enough or uneven application can lead to spotty results. When lightening the entire head, it is best to work in the middle of the section first since this will take the longest to lift. Once the hair becomes close to the desired shade of blonde, apply lightener to the roots and ends. If you do a test strand it is the best way to preview the results. If you need any extra help please feel free to contact our color experts via email anytime!

i naturally have almost black hair, and i was dying it orange with just regular box dye(no bleach) for a year and then dyed black with box dye8 months ago. rn my hair is dark brown mostly, but it still has some orange parts, is it ok to bleach with this?

Asked by: alvssa777
It can be damaging to your hair to apply Manic Panic Flash Lightning® Bleach Kits (or any brand of bleach/lightener) to hair colored with a permanent black hair color. Do not attempt to do this without the advice and direction of a professional stylist who can evaluate the condition of your hair. Lightening dyed black hair can result in major breakage. If it is determined to be safe to do so, it may take more than one processing session to lighten your hair to a light yellow. We recommend waiting two weeks before lightening your hair again. Please visit our Instagram @manicpanicnyc or our Manic Panic youtube channel for helpful videos of the process. Hi I have longer than shoulder length hair that I have been dying for years. At this point I am about 65% grey and wanting to go with a smoky silver to transition into my natural greying. Will I need more than one box? My current color is mostly redish

Asked by: Geri C SF
You may need two boxes as it will also depends on how much hair you have to cover. Example if you have thin shoulder length hair, 1 box is more than enough, but if you have thick and curly shoulder length hair you will need at least 2 boxes.

Hi I have shoulder-length natural dirty blonde/light brown hair but it's very thick and I have a lot of hair. How many boxes do you think I would need?

Asked by: MollyF43
Hi Molly! The amount of bleach can vary on length, porosity, or density of the hair. We always recommend more than one for thicker or longer hair for complete saturation. It is very important to make sure that you carefully and evenly coat all of your hair to avoid uneven results. I recommend getting two just to be sure. This product can lighten your hair up to three shade levels. Depending on where you hair color is currently from your last lightening treatment it could get you light enough to dye your hair blue.

I just dyed my hair and it didn't come out the color I wanted. How long should I wait to use this product?

Asked by: Amber701
I dyed my hair black an it didn't look right, so I got this product and was questioning if it will work, i tried it and it worked beautifully, and has no stinging side effects like some do. I love it, it got all the color out of my hair. I would use this again the next time i color my hair. It really works and isn't harsh on your hair.
