Better Natured Permanent Hair Color shades range between 87%-92% naturally-derived, depending on the shade. We use the Global ISO Standard 16128 which defines naturally-derived as a plant or mineral derived material and water which is found in nature and has undergone limited processing.

Mixing & Application
• Better Natured Permanent Hair Color can be mixed using a bowl and brush or an applicator bottle.
Mixing Ratio
• 1:1 Color to Developer* (2 FL. OZ./60mL color and 2 FL. OZ./60mL developer)
• *Better Natured 20 Volume Developer sold separately.
• Measure 20V developer into applicator bottle or non-metallic bowl. Add 2 FL. OZ./60mL of color into bottle or bowl. Shake or mix well.
Root Touch Up/ Re-Touching:
(Processing Time: 35-45 minutes)
• Apply to new growth/roots (dry hair), working in 1/4" sections.
• Let color process for 35 minutes (add 10 minutes for stubborn grays & vibrant shades).
• If necessary, add a little warm water and apply remaining color to ends for last 3-5 minutes of processing time.
• Rinse well with warm water until it runs clear, shampoo and condition.
• Dry off and admire your new shade!
Virgin Process All-Over Color:
(Processing Time: 35-45 minutes)
Follow these instructions if you’ve never colored your hair, haven’t colored in over 3 months or you’re switching to a darker or red shade.
• Apply to new growth/roots (dry hair), working in 1/4" sections ensuring even and thorough distribution.
• Apply remaining color to lengths and ends, starting where the roots stop.
• Massage color down the entire length of hair, section by section, using a color brush or gloved fingers ensuring even and thorough distribution.
• Let color process for 35 minutes (add 10 minutes for stubborn grays & vibrant shades)
• Rinse well with warm water until it runs clear, shampoo and condition.
• Dry off and admire your new shade!
Previously Color-Treated or Chemically Processed:
• Apply to new growth/roots (dry hair), working in 1/4" sections.
• Allow roots to process 35 minutes.
• If you are not pulling color through processing time is 35-45 minutes
• If you wish to refresh your ends, before rinsing roots, apply remaining color to lengths and ends.
• Massage color down the entire length of hair, section by section, using a color brush or gloved fingers ensuring even and thorough distribution.
• Allow an additional processing time of 10 minutes.
• Rinse well with warm water until it runs clear, shampoo and condition.
• Dry off and admire your new shade!
• If hair is previously colored treated or chemically processed, any shade chosen will add depth and dimension but will NOT lighten the hair.
• Staying within 2 levels of your natural color shade provides the best results.
