The European formula of ion Sensitive Scalp 20 Volume Creme Developer contains ionic buffers and conditioning wheat germ protein to help guard against scalp sensitivity. Ensures stronger, smoother, healthier hair during and after hair coloring. Mixes easily with any chosen hair coloring product when lightening up to two levels.
  • ion Sensitive Scalp 20 Volume Creme Developer can be mixed with any permanent hair color or lightener when the directions call for 20 Volume hydrogen peroxide. Rated 5 out of 5 by from good for sensitive scalp A nice creme developer. Sometimes my head gets itchy after coloring and my daughter complains of the same thing every time she colors her hair. This developer has resolved that problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Girl I am soooo happy that I gave this product a try! It’s been a game changer. I didn’t have any irritation as I had suffered in the past. I was really starting to worry about the stress my skin and scalp were going through before this product. I recommend it highly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This developer is amazing, so creamy and when I rinsed out my hair from the bleach I was so shocked to notice how soft my hair was AND THAT WAS AFTER THE BLEACH it was like I just put conditioner in. I definitely recommend this Ion developer I’ve used other ones and this by far is the best one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cant believe this I've been dying my hubby's hair silver for a few months now and not long ago i decided to give this developer a try. The scent is the only good thing about this... I cannot believe a developer that doesn't develop!! I mean the hair dye and the toner activates but not completely for some weird reason. The Salon Professional developer i was using did a much better job at mixing well with the toner and dye and the color came out brighter than when i used this. I am very disappointed since it's Ion and i truly hold their products in very high esteem cause they are fairly priced top of the line products in my book, but this one.... i cannot say the same.

Asked by: Amberlina
I don't have the expertise and can't answer your question. However, the sales folks in the stores are beauticians and can help in person or on the phone. I've also called directly to the manufacturer and received great customer service.

What is the difference between the developers 10, 20, 30 and 40? I use Ion demi-permanent hair color and have always used the 10. What do the higher numbers do? (I have 10% gray and I use light browns or neutral dark blonds or a combo). Just want to know.

Asked by: Lunamoth
Anything above 30 volume I would not recommend using yourself. 40 is very strong and you can mess things up badly, very quickly. If you need to lighten your hair by 2/3 levels, use 20 volume. 30 is about 4-5 levels, 40 can ruin your day if you don’t know what you’re doing
