Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good low volume toner Pretty good life sensitive scalp, definitely felt a good bit of stinging when I was toning my hair, but I had just bleached and stripped away all my oils, so I didn’t expect miracles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The hair don´t take the color I used this product with different brands of hair color and it's practically the same thing. Yes, it is very soft, it didn't cause any problems on my scalp, it doesn't have any strong smell, but it does not work. I thought that the first hair color that I used with this developer was the problem, but when using this developer with my normally brand, lasts a month the color I saw that the problem is the developer. With this product you need paint your hair every week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best developer out there I LOVE THIS STUFF SO MUCH perfect for on scalp applications very gentle and doesn’t burn at all. Takes longer to bleach but it’s ok I’d rather have my scalp be ok than to bleach quick using stronger volumes. I like the smell too

How does a newbie/never done this before use this?

Asked by: Trishneedshelpwiththis
I would first ask what color you are looking for, and then find out if you even need this product.

I purchased 20 vol developer and color brilliance, jet black. How much developer to use. Are there instructions to follow? This is my first time using permanent color?

Asked by: Bettyjean
Usually, the hair color instructions will say especially if it is different than 1:1 ratio. The standard is 1:1.

do i use 20 developer or 10 for ion demi permanent hair color

Asked by: smendoza
It depends! If you're just darkening your (lighter) hair, 10 volume is good. It your hair is thicker or you have resistent grays, go with at least 20. If you're lightening your roots but only adding colour to the shafts, use a higher developer on the roots and lower on the shafts, since you don't need to lift those. It might take some trial and error (or better yet, consult a professional!). I'm going to try 20 on my roots and 10 on the rest (I have dark blonde roots and the rest is bleached - no longer bleaching - just lifting with the dye). I was able to lift quite a bit with only 10 volume (my hair is fine though), but I'd like to lift a bit more!
