  • Complete kit- includes everything you need for color correction Perfect for all hair types- leaves hair in ideal condition to re-color Easily removes any level of hair color Helps to reduce breakage Easy to mix and apply

"Ion™ Color Brilliance™ Color Corrector removes the permanent hair color, establishing a base to recolor. It will not restore the hair to its original, natural hair color. Removes dark tint, unwanted dark spots, and color build up. Helps to remove muddy and drab looking color, which can be the result of too many previous color changes."

  • DIRECTIONS/ MIXING: Remove cap on Processing Lotion bottle (part 1). Add Color Remover packet (part 2) and Absolute Perfection vial. Apply applicator cap to Processing Lotion bottle and close tightly. Vigorously shake until product is thoroughly mixed (45 seconds). Using scissors immediately cut off plastic tip on applicator cap. APPLICATION AND DEVELOPMENT TIME: Wearing gloves, apply mixture quickly and evenly to dry hair, starting at the darkest area. Avoid application on uncolored new growth or on hair that has not been previously colored. For darker shades (level 1 black- level 3 dark brown) or intense color build up, process 50 minutes to 1 hour. For medium shades, (level 4 medium brown – level 6 dark blonde) process 20-30 minutes. For lighter shades, (level 7 medium blonde – level 9 very light blonde) process 10-20 minutes. Processing time varies depending on the amount of color absorbed from previous color applications. Black or darker shades may require more than 1 application. If the color removal was uneven, a second application may be necessary only on the darker areas. Processing times noted above are approximate. Strand test to ensure successful results. After processing, rinse thoroughly and lightly shampoo. Dry hair prior to recoloring.
  • Please see instructions for additional directions and tips. Always perform a strand test and patch test prior to applying all over.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Literally did nothing I bought this to lighten my bright pink hair. It literally did nothing at all. I left it on for an hour. Also comes with barely any product. Waste of time and money. Just bleached my hair with some 10 volume Developer and that did the trick. DO NOT BUY!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great BUT>>>>>>> The product ITSELF I rate 5 stars. I had horrible blotchy damaged stringy frizzy hair that was everything from auburn to dark red to carrot orange . Went to TWO salons and paid HUNDREDS and I mean hundreds of dollars for correction that just kept getting worse. I bought this out of desperation thinking my hair couldn't get any worse and if it broke off ,or was worse, I would do a pixie cut(cry). The PRO's.... this stuff brought all my hair to a carroty orange color but at least it was EVEN. It did NOT damage my hair more at all even though i had super damaged hair. Rinsed out way easier then Color Oops that i have used before a few years back. I just did one regular rinse and a light shampoo. NO smell. The CONS.... I have a chin length bob and very thin hair. This stuff didn't barely do half my head of hair so I just did half and then bought another box and did the other half. Crazy but what option did I have once i was already using it before I found out. Even only doing half a head of shorter thin hair, it definitely was not very moist for processing. The other thing was the powder packet was like doing a houdini trick to pour it easily into the developer solution. I kept losing bits I had to scrape off the table into the bottle ( and I was being super careful). Lastly itt WILL clog the bottle tip super easy. I had to finally cut the tip way bacor anyone interested... i sugk and just blob the solution out . FINAL THOUGHTS..... Love the actual product but feel Sally's owes me some money BIG TIME. Very misrepresenting thinking you can do a treatment with one box unless maybe you had a thin headed pixie cut. I ended up having to do an extra drive back and forth to Sallys with crazy hair and even using 2 boxes I must say it barely did my bob cut , very thin hair, correctly. For reference I would say shorter to medium hair needs 2-3 boxes. Medium to longer hair would need 3-4 boxes. Longer hair I wouldn't hesitate to say 5 boxes or more. WOULD I USE THIS AGAIN....YES. Because in the long run it removed and evened my color like the salons could not do without eating off my hair with bleach. i immediate colored afterwards and took my color from the corrected carrot orange to a dark golden ashy blonde. No noticeable extra damage at all from using this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not enough product!! 1.54 oz is all you get for a whopping $12. Not even enough to cover the head on a Barbie doll. Ridiculous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than expected! I decided to try one of these kits before reaching for traditional bleach to get black dye out of my hair. I'm so glad I did. I was worried it wouldn't be even, since my hair has been several colors over the last couple of years. Amazingly it was! It lightened my hair to a dark red/brown in one use. And it's actually a very pretty color now. The only negative is I had to use 3 kits to completely cover my hair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY! It doesn’t even cover half your head! I just wasted 11 dollars. I’m furious. I had to wash it out didn’t even know if it worked. But for 11 dollars it needs WAY more product in it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not enough product This worked very well on my dark brown dyed hair and lifted the colour to a lighter brown but there was not enough product to cover even half of my hair, my hair is maybe 3 inches below my collar bones

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective product! The product came in defective. The processing lotion bottle was empty. Disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product! So, I was recommended this by the Sally's rep after I told her I had a bad and smelly experience with One n Only ColorFix. Speaking of, doesn't use One n Only your hair will smell bad for weeks! And was super un-even. So anyways, I used this product for the first time and I can say with enthusiasm that I love it! My hair had no bad smell from the product. My hair is so blonde and not grey and blue like ColorFixs results. My natural hair had different colors but I don't care because I'll be coloring over it. But for the record my natural hair is a dark brown and it all varies from dark brown to super light brown. But my hair was purple and it's all gone! No traces! So it did it's job! Some reviews said you can only use this for permanent hair color but mine was semi and it worked awesomely. Then only con it had was the powder. The packet makes it hard to put it in the bottle. I was careful because other reviews warned me. I just put it in the mixing bowl and did it that way. Also I was warned by the Sally's lady that the product was low in volume so I bought two boxes. I have short but thick hair. So be prepared to get a couple of your hair is longer. One more thing. It has hydrogen peroxide so if your trying to avoid that don't use it. I didn't care so here I am. Haha!

With the ION color corrector, will it dmage/break/tear up my hair MY hair is in excelent condition, due to using argan oil and No shampoo.

Asked by: Red Wings
It should not, however deep condition before hand to help prevent damage and after. I used an oil based one with Argan and Coconut oils I mix a couple together. It does say to shampoo before an after, I know you said you don’t use shampoo though, in this case you will need to otherwise it’ll get damaged further. I strongly recommend SheaMoisture shampoo or Aveda Brilliance collection shampoo or in a pinch Hask works super well. All of thee are sulfate and paraben free, Vegan/cruelty free which is really important for me. Good Luck!

I dyed my hair red with bleach but it dident came out red so now my hair is orange blonde I think and want it black u think this one for mi

Asked by: Shorty09
Not sure if I understand. If you have bleached your hair, THEN used red dye afterwards...then this product should take the red dye out. But if you've simply bleached your hair and don't like the orangey results, a color corrector will NOT give your natural color back. You would need to dye it with an ash toned dye to counteract the warmth. Ask a Sally's associate to help you find the shade you are looking for. At my local store they are very knowlegable. They will help you out.

this states it won't lift your natural color yet reviews plainly show bright yellow root where it was new growth. will this or will this NOT lift natural hair color? I only want to remove demi permanent not lift my color

Asked by: Samantha2
I would qualify it more as a lightener than a corrector. As it did both for my hair. Its basically bleach tbh

Is this a sulfur-based oxidative color remover such as color fix or color oops, or a bleach-like color stripper, or something else entirely? I read the ingredients and couldn’t figure it out thanks!

Asked by: TMCoGeeZ

I Had previously dyed my hair red over my natural brown hair, and i wanted to know if this will slightly lighten my hair or like completely bleach it.

If you need to just use a tiny bit of the product, can you mix just a portion of the product and save the rest for another time? Or does the product have to mixed all at once and used all at once? thank you for your answers!
