  • Mix Ratio: 1 part haircolor, 2 parts developer. Lighter than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 15 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes or until color is even. Darker than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 30 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes if additional coverage is needed.

Tips for achieving optimum coverage on gray hair:

    1. Select a shade level 8 or darker for best coverage; Lighter shades will create a translucent effect.

    2. Shades from Natural or Gold Family will produce a more natural result with optimum coverage.

    3. Mix with 20 Volume Well Color Charm Developer

    4. Apply generously starting at the area with highest percentage of gray or most resistant.

    5. Process for 30 minute, extend to 45 minutes if needed.

    6. For better coverage on hair that is more than 50% gray, use a fashion shade from the Red Family and mix with equal parts of Wella Color Charm Natural or Gold shade at the same level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very cool grayish/silvery light blonde This is a very cool blonde; almost like a silvery grayish blonde. I use it to mix with another colour from ion (10v) to achieve the coolish very light blonde I am wanting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect tone, well balanced for my natural shade On a whim I purchased this shade, looking for something to highlight without any brassy or red tones and was absolutely thrilled. I'm on the dark blonde/light brunette side and this was exactly what I was looking for. It's a little thick when mixed with the Salon Care 20 Volume and since I use a highlight bottle adapter I just added about 20% water to get it through. Works great, looks great and this is my go to shade for life.

Received Wella Charm Liquid hair color. Directions say mix with 2 Parts Wella Color Charm developer. Shouldn't the developer be part of the package? Nothing was mentioned that it had to be bought separately.

Asked by: KathleenP
Buy wella hair dye then buy 20 developer and do 2 to 1. They assume a person would ask or have knowledge to the directions. I hope this helped.

Looking for Frosty Ash

Asked by: Cindy6305
Making your hair blonde is a difficult job. It all depends on your natural hair color. In addition everyone's hair texture is different, and absorbs color differently. It you have black hair, for example, your would have to undergo hours of prebleaching, and adding tone back in. If you are a red-head it's a different story. If this is the first time you have colored your hair, I would go to a professional.
