  • Mix Ratio: 1 part haircolor, 2 parts developer. Lighter than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 15 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes or until color is even. Darker than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 30 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes if additional coverage is needed.

Tips for achieving optimum coverage on gray hair:

    1. Select a shade level 8 or darker for best coverage; Lighter shades will create a translucent effect.

    2. Shades from Natural or Gold Family will produce a more natural result with optimum coverage.

    3. Mix with 20 Volume Well Color Charm Developer

    4. Apply generously starting at the area with highest percentage of gray or most resistant.

    5. Process for 30 minute, extend to 45 minutes if needed.

    6. For better coverage on hair that is more than 50% gray, use a fashion shade from the Red Family and mix with equal parts of Wella Color Charm Natural or Gold shade at the same level.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from It was okay Probably a user error, however it added more ashy grey tones to my hair, and faded out super super quick even though I didn't wash my hair all that much. And the scent was the strongest scent ever.

my natural is auburn. Been dying black/blue for at least 10 years. I want to go lighter, closer to original. I've decided to bypass bleach and stripping. I'll just do my roots. What shades, brands would be best? I'm 65 and have long hair.

Asked by: carolbinda
You could try an extra strength hair color remover first! There are some which are extra conditioning and ammonia-free. Also whatever color you choose, it would probably be best to use with 30 volume developer instead of the usual 20 volume for more lift.

Is everything I need in this box?

Asked by: Szq1234Q
If you mean the box of color, no. You will also need developer. You must mix the two together in a 2-to-1 ratio. So, for the 1.5 ounces of color, you need 3 ounces of developer.

What developer goes with medium honey blonde ?

Asked by: Wendolaa
It depends on what your base color is. If you are going more than two shades lighter, 30 volume. But to be most successful, use 20 if this isn't far from your natural color. This is not a bleach and meant to lift a little, them deposit color.
