  • 1:1 mixing ratio. Two ounces of color to two ounces of 10, 20, 30 or 40 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer. High Lift Blonde series is mixed 1:2 ratio: Two ounces of color to 4 ounces of 30 or 40 Volume Ion Sensitive Scalp Developer. Bowl and brush application is recommended. Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

If have never colored your hair and you want to change your current hair color or you have not colored in 3 months or longer follow these steps: Apply hair color mixture to dry, unwashed hair • Work gently through hair as you would a shampoo. Loosely pile hair on top of head • Process according to manufacturer’s directions. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather • Rinse until the water runs clear.

If you color your hair every 4-6 weeks with a shade of similar tone and level follow these steps: Make 1/4” partings throughout dry, unwashed hair • Apply mixture onto new growth area only, working from the front to the back of your head. Leave color on new growth area for 25 minutes. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather • Rinse until the water runs clear.

Other tips: Always perform a strand and patch test • It is often not necessary to refresh the ends of the hair on every permanent hair color touch-up application • For resistant gray, use 20 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp® Creme Developer and apply to gray area first • Apply a stain barrier cream around the hairline prior to application when using dark shades • Choose a lighter shade than desired if you are unsure of which shade to use or if you have very few gray hairs • Use an old towel to protect your clothing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the red I have dark brown hair and have been going lighter as I get older. But I really enjoy the red especially outdoors where it really shows up. Sometimes I mix it in with the brown and other times I put red highlights in. Change of pace and something different for an "elderly" person. Lol.

I have platinum blonde hair level 11 ...I want to go back with be reddish brown hair ...what should I do...

Asked by: Tball2020
If you want to dye your hair first determine how long you want the color to last. Your hair is very light in color so just a note if you decide to use a semi or temporary hair color it is likely to stain your hair. Permanent hair color has the best staying power for long lasting results. Next determine what level (how dark or light) you want your new color to be. Since you know you want a red brown base, a red-brown in this line will be between levels 3-5 so between a dark to medium brown about 6-9 levels darker than your current color. Once you have determined your color, all that's left is to dye your hair with your choice of hair color by following the instructions. If you choose a permanent or demi permanent hair color you will need to use developer for the color to deposit correctly.

I bought a 30 volume developer and medium brown hair dye. Did I buy the right developer?

Asked by: Hall2020
You will be just fine. Just make sure if you bought a "cream" color you use a "cream" developer.

If I’m using 8v what developer should I use to cover yellow hair after bleaching

Asked by: Melissachism
I've not used 8v before but I always go up 1 level when using the sensitive scalp creme developer, so I use 20vol for toner instead of 10vol. I hope that helps.
