The line professional stylists have trusted for years. ion Color Brilliance Permanent Hair Color makes it easy to get extraordinary, long-lasting, salon quality results at home even better. The luxurious Italian formulas are made to be especially gentle and protect against damage. The Color Brilliance Permanent Liquid Hair Color pallet consists of luxurious shades with advanced ionic technology that utilizes pure ionic micro pigments for deeper, more intense color deposit. Ionic wheat germ protein, nourishing botanical extracts, and low ammonia help ion Color Brilliance penetrates the cuticle layer of the hair and lodges in the cortex, ensuring 100% flawless gray coverage.

Superior quality and proprietary blends are formulated in Italy by ion's expert team of chemists to deliver unparalleled results. The unique system combines the finest quality natural and exotic ingredients with powerful high-tech compounds to achieve exquisite, brilliant color with superior gray coverage. ion Hair Color science relies on the power of micro-pigmentation—ion's microscopic pigment molecules oxidize slower, allowing them to penetrate deep into the cortex of each hair strand for long-lasting, fade-resistant color.

These formulas are PPD-free and enriched with Hyaluronic Acid, Argan Oil, Pequi Oil, and botanicals to nourish and strengthen hair from within. Not to mention, ion Hair Color is gentle on hair, containing up to 38% less ammonia than the leading professional brands on the market. Unlock your hair’s true potential with Ion’s cutting-edge, salon-quality color science and bring home vibrance like never before.
  • Permanent hair color chemically alters the natural pigment of the hair—permanently—by lifting (lightening) the natural pigment in your hair and depositing the permanent hair color you selected in its place. Using permanent formulas means your color will remain until your hair grows out (aka your “roots” start showing), you cut it off, or you remove it with a hair color remover.

1:1 mixing ratio. Two ounces of color to two ounces of 10, 20, 30 or 40 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer. High Lift Blonde series is mixed 1:2 ratio: Two ounces of color to 4 ounces of 30 or 40 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp Developer. Bowl and brush application is recommended. Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

If have never colored your hair and you want to change your current hair color or you have not colored in 3 months or longer follow these steps: Apply hair color mixture to dry, unwashed hair • Work gently through hair as you would a shampoo. Loosely pile hair on top of head • Process according to manufacturer’s directions. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather • Rinse until the water runs clear.

If you color your hair every 4-6 weeks with a shade of similar tone and level follow these steps: Make 1/4” partings throughout dry, unwashed hair • Apply mixture onto new growth area only, working from the front to the back of your head. Leave color on new growth area for 25 minutes. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather • Rinse until the water runs clear.

Other tips: Always perform a strand and patch test • It is often not necessary to refresh the ends of the hair on every permanent hair color touch-up application • For resistant gray, use 20 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp® Creme Developer and apply to gray area first • Apply a stain barrier cream around the hairline prior to application when using dark shades • Choose a lighter shade than desired if you are unsure of which shade to use or if you have very few gray hairs • Use an old towel to protect your clothing.

Is this safe to use during early pregnancy?

Asked by: Mishy019
Although fairly limited, most research indicates the chemicals found in both semi-permanent and permanent dyes are not highly toxic and are safe to use during pregnancy. In addition, only small amounts of hair dye may be absorbed by the skin, leaving little that would be able to reach the fetus as of Oct 11, 2019

Been using Wella Tango 6R, it is a bit dark.  Would this 6R be more of a true Red? I also have slight Gray at temples, a little scalp..  Is it best to apply with brush or bottle?

Asked by: KCdoc590
You have a couple of options, change shades, or use 30 vol peroxide. I've struggled with Wella.[too many formula changes] But in the last two years I've switched to Ion.I use their Hair color Light copper blonde 8RC-8.4. I have many compliments on how natural it looks. I use a squeeze bottle with an angled tip. I'm able to part my hair for touch-up easier. I've used a brush but find it unwieldy doing myself. It is Easier on someone else! Good luck, I've been a red-head for over 20 years, almost 30 years and have ridden the "red roller coaster" but I am very satisfied with Ion.

Will this cover black hair?

Asked by: Koda1223
If you want the new color to be true, then you need to first bleach or remove the black color, then dye the new color. This is a multi step process which requires expertise. Best see a professional colorist at a salon or you may wind up with a horrific mess!

I want a light brown haircolor, that doesn't pick up on red tones. My hair color now is dark blonde.

Asked by: Jularhs123
Use ash brown.   Stay away from intense as this has red undertones

Do I need a 40 volume developer with this product?

Asked by: Jo171819
Not necessarily. I use 20 developer. I've also used 30 in the past. I'm 50% grey and it gives me great coverage. However, if 40 is recommended by the color manufacturer, then that's what you should use. I've been using 20 for decades.

What is the difference between liquid (never tried) and the cream?

Asked by: glow vegas
It was shared with me at the store that the cream provides better gray coverage because of how it adheres to the hair follicle.
