The line professional stylists have trusted for years. ion Color Brilliance Permanent Hair Color makes it easy to get extraordinary, long-lasting, salon quality results at home even better. The luxurious Italian formulas are made to be especially gentle and protect against damage. The Color Brilliance Permanent Liquid Hair Color pallet consists of luxurious shades with advanced ionic technology that utilizes pure ionic micro pigments for deeper, more intense color deposit. Ionic wheat germ protein, nourishing botanical extracts, and low ammonia help ion Color Brilliance penetrates the cuticle layer of the hair and lodges in the cortex, ensuring 100% flawless gray coverage.

Superior quality and proprietary blends are formulated in Italy by ion's expert team of chemists to deliver unparalleled results. The unique system combines the finest quality natural and exotic ingredients with powerful high-tech compounds to achieve exquisite, brilliant color with superior gray coverage. ion Hair Color science relies on the power of micro-pigmentation—ion's microscopic pigment molecules oxidize slower, allowing them to penetrate deep into the cortex of each hair strand for long-lasting, fade-resistant color.

These formulas are PPD-free and enriched with Hyaluronic Acid, Argan Oil, Pequi Oil, and botanicals to nourish and strengthen hair from within. Not to mention, ion Hair Color is gentle on hair, containing up to 38% less ammonia than the leading professional brands on the market. Unlock your hair’s true potential with Ion’s cutting-edge, salon-quality color science and bring home vibrance like never before.

  • Permanent hair color chemically alters the natural pigment of the hair—permanently—by lifting (lightening) the natural pigment in your hair and depositing the permanent hair color you selected in its place. Using permanent formulas means your color will remain until your hair grows out (aka your “roots” start showing), you cut it off, or you remove it with a hair color remover.

1:1 mixing ratio. Two ounces of color to two ounces of 10, 20, 30 or 40 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer. High Lift Blonde series is mixed 1:2 ratio: Two ounces of color to 4 ounces of 30 or 40 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp Developer. Bowl and brush application is recommended. Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

If have never colored your hair and you want to change your current hair color or you have not colored in 3 months or longer follow these steps: Apply hair color mixture to dry, unwashed hair • Work gently through hair as you would a shampoo. Loosely pile hair on top of head • Process according to manufacturer’s directions. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather • Rinse until the water runs clear.

If you color your hair every 4-6 weeks with a shade of similar tone and level follow these steps: Make 1/4” partings throughout dry, unwashed hair • Apply mixture onto new growth area only, working from the front to the back of your head. Leave color on new growth area for 25 minutes. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather • Rinse until the water runs clear.

Other tips: Always perform a strand and patch test • It is often not necessary to refresh the ends of the hair on every permanent hair color touch-up application • For resistant gray, use 20 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp® Creme Developer and apply to gray area first • Apply a stain barrier cream around the hairline prior to application when using dark shades • Choose a lighter shade than desired if you are unsure of which shade to use or if you have very few gray hairs • Use an old towel to protect your clothing.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mistake Bought the liquid instead of the creme by mistake. Poor coverage, the creme color covers better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect color, covers greys! I've been coloring my hair with ion for years now. I'm very happy with the staying power and the way it covers my ever growing amount of grey hair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much easier to work with than the tube of cream. Much easier for me to work with the liquid than the creme. The tube is *really* hard to squeeze! I left a review on the creme--the color is terrific but it's not a blonde so much as a light cinnamon brown. If you're expecting *blonde* blonde, you're going to be disappointed.

Where can I get ION 9A LIQUID ? It's not in the stores and not avail. online. I've used it for over 10 years. If you got rid of it, is there an equivalent that's exactly the same as 9A LIQUID??? Very frustrated. Susan

I have light blonde hair what would be the easiest to do myself & on my hair like a flamingo pink or the lavender purple? I can't decide!

Asked by: Britt143
If you want something super bright and vibrant, flamingo pink is the way to go. If you want something more subtle and soft, lavender is a better route to go. The difference is, lavender will fade to a grayish tone, then back to a very ashy-type blonde. The flamingo will fade to a lighter pink tone. It also makes a difference if you decide to go permanent or semi-permanent. Honestly, I would try semi-permanent first. Just to see if you like it. I always recommend that to my customers. If you love it, then choose to go permanent at a later date, when the color starts to fade. I will say, with semi-permanent, you don’t use developer. You just squeeze it straight out of the tube into a bowl and then onto your hair. The thing I recommend is making sure you buy enough to cover your whole head and get it as even as possible. Good luck and have fun!

I use ion permanent hair color 2 fl oz with the same amount (2 fl oz.) of developer, is that amount correct? Half/half?

Asked by: Anonymous
I’ve been coloring my hair for over 25 years and I’ve used this hair color for most of that time.  That is the ratio I use...someone once told me if you put a little less developer in and will help color grays better but in my experience as long as I never put more developer than color - I’m fine... I have very very stubborn grays and I color my roots almost weekly.  I leave on for about 45 minutes.  I’m careful not to breath the vapors in.  I usually put some type of oil like olive or coconut all over (I don’t rub it into roots to not disrupt color) my hair while it’s on for the 45 minutes.

What developer strength should I use for the ION color HL/B. I used HL/ 12 from these products with a 30 strength developer before BUT I cannot find that color since covit-19 pandemic. Will HL/B give me a similar color? Thanks.

Asked by: PatNeedsAdvise
ion Color Brilliance High Lift Hair Color is designed to be mixed with either a 30 or 40 volume developer mixed 1 ounce of color to 2 ounces of developer.

I bleached my roots 8 weeks ago/died hair manic panic red, from blonde. Lasted 2 weeks. It’s a rose pink/blonde again. I want it a healthy red. I damaged my hair bleaching unsure why, rarely bleach. Its light now/don’t want damage, what’s the safest option

Asked by: ShanaMarie22
All color will fade off bleached hair especially red. A hair stylist would of known to use a filler. I don’t give advice to doing hair at home. You need a professional.
