Manic Panic Semi-Permanent Hair Color Cream Ultra Violet is a royal shade of deep indigo. Ultra Violet is darker than Lie Locks™, but lighter and bluer than Violet Night™. Pre-lightening with Manic Panic Flash Lightning® Bleach kit to a level 9 or 10 is suggested before dying to get the hue at its brightest. This vegan, semi-permanent color is tested on celebrities, not animals

Semi Permanent Cream Hair Color is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 711.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the greatest experience... A few months back we bought the rockabilly blue dye for my nephews to use on their hair as something fun to do over the summer. Myself and my sister have used manic panic dye for more than 10 years on our own hair and we’ve never had any issues up until we used it recently. We followed all of the directions Word for Word and the end result was a catastrophe. The application was issue free as normal but when we rinsed it out... everything in the bathroom was blue. we went through an entire bottle of bleach trying to get the blue dye off of the bathtub and the sink and the floor and the walls everywhere had some sort of remnants of the dye, even when we didn’t touch it. I have never had this issue with Manic panic ever until we use the new formula. I don’t know what changed as far as the formulation of the dye but I would not recommend it any longer due to the issue of it getting everywhere and staying everywhere until we bleached everything. we made the boys wait another day before they got a shower just to make sure the pigmentation stayed and after they got out the shower their entire bodies were blue from the water running off of their head after we rinsed it out completely the first time. we had to use rubbing alcohol to get it off of their skin. I honestly used to love manic panic because it was easy to apply and easy to maintain but now I will never use it again and I hate to say that because it was one of my favorite temporary hair dye to use that didn’t hurt your hair. It’s definitely a sad day but I guess I will have to find something else that I can use that will not cause the issues that the manic panic dies new formulation has caused.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great as a toner I mix a bit of the colors with conditioner and leave on my highlights to tone in the shower like diy purple shampoo. I have ombré hair so I mixed the violet / blue steel / and one of the med blue shades. Purple tones yellow, blue tones orange, and green tones red. Silver charcoal also adds ash. Makes my hair super ashy. I was shocked it took away the brassiness! Color theory is real! Thanks manic panic!

I have been looking for the perfect shade of blue for my blonde hair and this was the one. i love it but once it fades its like a weird kinda green but all i have to do is redye it and its perfect again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I buy manic panic dyes for almost every colored look I do. I find it comparable to iroiro and pulp riot in brightness and it fades so gracefully.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this product - Pillarbox red Love the red, however it does bleed a bit, so shower in cold water if you can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The true about this brand. In the first place, this is not a color for those whose hair is not previously bleached. You must bleach your hair first, in order to have the desired color. You can bleach your hair to the desired level according to the color you chose. For example, if you want purple, dark blue, royal blue your level of bleach must reach a yellow/orange tone, you do not need to bleach your hair to white, unless you want to dye your hair like white, or silver. To summarize, this is not a color to be used on natural hair dark colors, the color is not going to be seen. Please, do not de-valuate this brand because you used it wrong and did not follow these steps. It is the best brand I have ever used Actually, my hair is black and blue, I have been using Manic Panic all shadows of blues like mermaid colors and its beautiful for a period of a year and 1/2. I just bleached my hair once and then just retouch it. Of course, after a few inches of growing, you will need to retouched for bleach and apply the color. Educate yourselves before doing something in your hair by yourself. There are great videos on YouTube you can take advantage of it. Hope it helped!! Respectfully, Dary

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad I dyed my hair twice trying to get any kind of color. It didn’t work at all. My hair is still sandy blonde. Not only did I use it on myself, but a friend too. Didn’t work for her either

Does the Rockabilly work on dark hair?

Asked by: weirdo272007
Basically the colors look brighter and stay longer on bleached hair but a lot of their darker colors will give nice subtle highlights to natural dark hair.

I am an older woman with gray/silver hair. How will this product work in my hair.

Asked by: pattiruc
Yes it will. Manic Panic has a "Dye hard" of the month and many times has had a woman in her 90's with the pink and purple. I know a couple of their colors don't take to my hair(mostly my fault) but the colors that don't show up with a test patch I mix with another. Ex: Cotton Candy with the hot hot pink. It will take better to bleached hair since the hair will suck it up more in a sense.

My daughter has really dark brown hair it almost looks black. she wants to highlight it purple. will this work on her hair?

Asked by: BranBran
My daughter has medium brown hair. I bought this because it is vegan and safe to both my daughter and her hair (she's only 8 and I'm not willing to use bleach or other typical hair dyes on her at this point in time). I have to admit that I was a little disappointed. We spent quite a bit of time on this process and even left it on a bit longer than the label stated but the results were lackluster. You could tell a difference in the dyed sections vs her typical hair color but it is nowhere near the purple that is shown. I think we may try a second application and see if it deepens the color but I don't think I'd buy this item again for any color darker than a dark blonde.

I have bleached hair to about a light orange, does anyone know which two colors woud give the best ombre effect? I prefer dark colors, but im unsure which ones will look good together.

Asked by: SandyHSS
For the tones you have in your hair, I'm going to say while going with a pink, orange, or red would be best to avoid the orange possibly coming through other colors you could almost definitely get away with purples and dark blue. Remember you can mix colors too so if you wanted a dark pink you could really mix a drop of raven with hot hot pink and blend it into purple haze. (Again you could also mix purple Haze with a drop of Raven if you wanted a darker tone)

What can I use to tone golden blonde synthetic wig to platinum blonde

Asked by: Barbarah
Acrylic ink is the only one I know of that you can use on synthetic wigs. I have yet to hear of anything that is used for human hair to work on Synthetic unfortunately.

My hair is medium to dark brown, and my stylist lightened some sections and applied a purple glaze for purple highlights. Now it is fading and I want to redye it, but just the lightened sections. Is there a way to dye it so only those parts get dyed?

Asked by: Cimorene
I just did this with the hot hot pink today. I took out the sections i needed and put foil underneith my hair. Then i used a rubber gloved hand to apply the product to the hair on the foil. Then i wrapped the foil around it and let it process 30 min like it says before washing out. This worked grear for me! Just make sure u can section out exactly what u want dyed. :)

I recently dyed my hair black (Feria Starry Night, said it's "bright black") and it has almost bluish tones to it. If I use Vampire Red on my dyed black hair, will it help give it more reddish/warm tones? or just do nothing?

Asked by: ElleyKat
It could go either way depending on the condition of your hair. I've never had any luck getting color out of semi-perm over my own dyed black hair when I used to try that but I know others who have. Doing a test strand is the only way to know for sure. Good luck! :)
