Rated 1 out of 5 by from READ FOR "None More Black" I normally buy Arctic Fox hair dye and have love all their colors thus fair but I read the reviews on their black hair dye "Transylvania" and everyone was saying how they didn't like it, it wasn't black, stained everything so I decided to try a different brand. This brand did all of those things, it wasn't black (like advertised) and also gives NO specific directions how to use the dye either, it stained my shower, my clothes, my skin ... and i dont mean just my hands - even after 2 washed the dye was still ruining out of my hair and I would have to scrub my body after to get the blue dye of my skin. The color turned out to be a deep blue, almost a navy. For some reason it did not dye my roots the same color, so it looks very awkward with the dark blue and then light greyish color roots. I would not buy this product again or recommend this product even if someone wanted to dye their hair blue ... its messy, poor quality and isn't worth the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful but, I used the color PPL EATER and while it was a pretty color, it ended up fading to a blue color. The color was pretty nonetheless but I used this color 5-6 months ago and I'm still dealing with the blue as its a very difficult color to remove. If you dont mind it becoming blue, then go hard, but if you dont want to deal with the hassle of removing blue color from your hair proceed with caution. Very vibrant and pretty though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them! I bought Narwhal. I absolutely love the color. I get compliments on it all the time. The color lasts a long time, but I also see some on hand for touching up the roots. I have thin, fine hair and this product does not dry it out. Thank you for such a great product!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Read for a semi-lengthy review. Before you buy this you should know (since it's not stated on or in the box) that it's not a stand-alone dye and is meant to be added into another dye to darken it's color. My biggest problems with this dye were that it's very thick compared to other dyes (such as arctic fox, manic panic, etc). On their site it's stated that it's violet under-toned which it's not as its very blue even after being mixed with a red dye. The color came out very uneven with spots of light turquoise and blue spite all of the dye being applied evenly. When my hairs under sunlight it looks like I've dyed my hair blue rather then black. Left the dye in my hair for 35 minutes and the strands were beginning to look frizzy and damaged after washing it out my hair ended up a frizzy mess, left a major mess of blue in my shower (not surprised since it's a black dye though). Any dye stains I had on my skin are pretty much faded after one wash. To summarize I wouldn't recommend it especially for the price at such a little amount.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great color but the STAINS first of all this is really great product that smells good and keeps your hair healthy and does what it’s supposed to do, dye your hair, but it also dyes literally everything it comes into contact with, photos below are my shower after rinsing the dye out for and my hand after washing it about 40 times with the dish soap and baking soda trick, it really is a great color payoff but PLEASE listen to the warnings and take precautions to help avoid staining!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned My Daughters Hair Neon Teal Blue I have colored hair for years and followed the instructions perfectly. she did not have previously treated hair and it turned her NEON teal blue. we had to go back to a different sallys where they had the Ion semi perm blacket black to cover it. as the ion faded the blue did not budge. after MULTIPLE tries with baking soda and 10 developer; we had to use a lightener twice to get it all the way out

Will the dye work on hair that has never been dyed or bleached? I want to know what dye would be best for my hair since I have never done anything to it. (Btw I have light brown hair)

Asked by: Ok961244
I use it without bleaching to great results. I just use dr. Bronners Castle Soap as a cleansing shampoo then blow dry it and use the dye as directed with a brush. And even without globbing it on like I’ve seen some do with prelightened hair Rock Lobster and Riot showed up great on my brown hair. Steal My Sunshine looks a bit green when wet though when it’s dry it looks fine.

Does color bleed when washed? Does it stain the tub or your hands when u wash your hair? Like a mess. Does color come out of towels, pillows when washed? And when you apply it does the color come off your skin when rinsing product out? I dye my hair a lo

Asked by: atxqueenb
I've used the green. It will lightly stain your tub when you rinse it out. It will stain your hands if you don't use gloves but it mostly washes off after normal hand washings with soap. Use very cool water, rinse until water is clear, and use a color sealing conditioner right after coloring. I've had absolutely no bleeding.

I just lightened my hair beneathe my bangs and colored it with Splat Blue Indigo, I want it to be more vibrant and can't wait to try GDY in Blue Ruin. Do I have to rebleach again or can I color over the present color?

Asked by: Missylove
I would suggest trying to fade the previous color out as much as you can before applying Good Dye Young in order to get the most vibrant results. But no, you shouldn't have to re-bleach again unless you want to ensure vibrancy! xx dye happy, Becca from Good Dye Young

I'm looking for a warm based purple, almost like a dark magenta. Would I be able to make one if I mixed ex-girl with some Blue Ruin? And would it show up well on caramel highlights?

Asked by: nick like nickname
My favorite formula for magenta is Ex Girl, Rock Lobster, and a very small drop of Blue Ruin! xx dye happy, Becca from Good Dye Young

How long does it last

Asked by: Hannah2579
This line does last a good bit longer than some other semipermanents that i have used (I'd say around 4 weeks without needing a touch up), but at-home maintenance is also key - make sure to use cold water and color-safe/sulfate free shampoo. Also, any summer activities like pool time or beach trips, it would be best to avoid getting the hair wet as chlorine and salt water can strip the color quickly!

do you need to bleach or can you dye straight onto unbleached hair? i'm looking for a more diluted, dark color and have dirty blonde hair.

Asked by: spicyjor
You can do a strand test to see how it would look, but you will get best results if you bleach first. If you want it darker it is best to mix with a darker color until you get desired color. If you try to apply on dirty blonde hair I think you will get a muddy greenish look (for the blue anyway)

I’m looking for a really good bright and vibrant purple! Is this the PPL EATER good? I’ll take any opinions, doesn’t matter what brand it is just want some bright purple.

Asked by: andrea547
This shade comes out more blue than purple. You should try Artic Fox's purple.
